Good price? Palladium for Groom?

We have been looking for wedding rings recently and are really confused now! There seems to be so many variables and range of prices out there. We have been quoted 1050 euro for an 18ct white gold pave diamond set wedding band to made to match my engagement ring. For him, a 5mm palladium ring for 250e. The palladium ring seems so cheap it seems too good to be true?! Does anyone know of any disadvantages to buying palladium. One assistant told us that it doesn't re-size well, and if its needs re'sizing you might have no option but bin it? Does that sound right?
Appreciate any advice/opinions

Hi Bluebird12,

Palladium price does seem too good to be true for a 5mm wide ring. Maybe the jeweller is selling Palladium 500 which means the palladium content is only 50% as opposed to normal palladium rings that have a 95% content. Has your fiance small fingers or is the ring really light? Ask the jeweller about the palladium content and ask him how many grammes will be ring weigh and I can advise further.

Most Jewellers only use 950 Palladium,

A price of 250 to 300 euro is what we would charge to make a 5mm wide by 1.8 thick
Palladium ring weight about 7 Grams size u.

The price might increase by a small amount if H2B is a big boy

Palladium is hard wearing and holds its white colour
It is no problem to re size a palladium ring as long as the proper solder is used.
We have adjusted many palladium rings with no problem.

The jeweller is probably giving you a good price as you are purchasing the diamond wedding ring from him
