Hi Guys / Girls,
Decided I would post as its something ive kept private and did for myself but I think everybody has started to notice.
Had a neck injury and let the pounds pile on .. never mind Ill shift them.
Eventually was finding getting clothes difficult and said enough is enough and funnily at the time the g/f was watching expose and they had a piece on motivation.ie So i rang next day when on my own and signed up. Its costly cost me 630ish i think but said sod it going to do this and sort it this time.
Im at it 6 weeks and with some excercise and following plan am down 2 stone 4 pounds. I have lost 6 inches on my frame and reduced bmi by 6% too so far.
I am astounded by it and am now really keen to get to my target weight which is only another 1-7"
Its a 20 week programme and not for everyone id say.. its lots of protein supplements with 3 healthy meals from approved food list and the supplements cost 45 a week but for me it really worked and the weekly meet keeps you very focussed
Anyway thats my story

Well done, don't worry we all have little tings that we keep to our selves, that excellent weight loss and you know what you have taken it very serious. I guess the motivation is the name of the game also.

Only down side it is costly.

Hi Nov10 Groom!!

Went and had my first visit with the Motivation weight loss clinic yesterday, cost 25 and got my hopes up to sky high and then got the bomb shell of price!!

My story in a nut shell, female 28, 5 foot 5.5" and 16 stone 5.5lb!!!!!
Getting married in 1 year and 4 days!!! Been over weight for possible 10 years now!! Have tried everything in the book and all work for a time and then back to square one!!!

Back to the MWLC! Like I said Called in yesterday and she as good as promised me I would be 5 or 6 stone lighter in the 20 weeks, which I was thrilled with as want to go dress shopping in 20 weeks!! Then dropped the bombshell of price!! She was encouraging me into the medically supervised one which is 1st consultation of €175 and then €2450 for the 20 weeks!!! Nearly cried!! Can do the other one for €50 and €540 but still have to pay for the supplements and books and cds afterwards, but with only half the results maybe 2 or 3 stone in the 20 weeks!!

HELP!!! Would pay anything to be thin!!!!

Nora, you need a kick in the bum! Pay me €500million and Ill tell you to eat just Special K for the next year. I promise that the weight will fall off you and you will be 6 stone lighter in four months.

Come on lady, you know it doesnt make sense to lose 6 stone in 20 weeks but if you pay a lower fee you'll only lose half that. You didnt put on the weight that fast, so it is not realistic to lose it so quickly. Its not sustainable or rational.

You have time on your side, join a program (one that doesnt cost the same as a wedding dress!) and get stuck in to it. You can get the same results but wont damage your pocket or your health.

Hi Little boots!!!

Thanks for comment but when you are 6 stone overweight and have tried the WW, and Lipotrim etc etc and it works for a few weeks and then backt o square one!!! I need to change things in my head to stop food being my comfort and my thing to do when bored etc etc!! On my own all day from 8 to 8 and nobody to judge me on what I eat etc. Believe you me its not that easy!! Need a motivator, someone to judge me and talk me through it each week! When I said I need help I really do!!

Hi Nora,

I did Motivation from Jan - May this year. The first 10 weeks were good but I started to lose motivation after that. Generally I felt great on the programme (loads of energy) but I found that if I cheated just the tiniest bit (i.e. ONE bar of chocolate / two glasses of wine) I either put up weight or stayed the same.

Overall I lost 1 stone in the 20 weeks. For €550 plus €30 a week on bars plus CD's & supplements I didn't think it was a great weight loss & found myself getting very frustrated. I was tempted to go for a second 20 week session but couldn't justify the expense.

I did like the motivational CD's and the diet was quite easy once you got the hang of it but, as I said, you really couldn't cheat at all. If I had a night out, wedding, birthday, etc. I could pretty much guarantee I'd be up weight.

Which clinic are you thinking of joining? I went to Dawson St. & I found the counsellor/leader quite demotivating after a while and her lack of qualifications & experience became more and more apparent as time went on (I know another Wollie had the same experience with the same counsellor). From what I've read, the clinics in Cork seem to have a fantastic reputation.

Overall, I wouldn't discourage you from doing the diet. God knows I've tried everything and this option just wasn't for me but that's not to say it wouldn't work for you.

At the moment I'm doing WW online which is costing me about €10 a month and it's working quite well for me. I'm into a gym routine & although the pounds aren't exactly falling off I'm starting to notice a difference in my clothes.

Whatever route you decide to take I wish you all the best and hope that your wedding day is the happiest day of your life.

Jesus thats mental money... I'd use it to join a gym instead and maybe consult a dietician for nutrition advice.

I know though the motivation gyms give you special one on one excercise advice but basically 3,500 calories is equal to one pound. So you have to burn a lot of calories and eat a lot less than normal to lose weight.

Would you try something like jogging? The weight just falls off you, literally, I mean it. And anyone can do it.

well aren't we all very opinionated ... are any of the people randomly commenting overweight ?? If not I ask as politely as I can for you to *&^% off & leave the thread for people who are inteseted in the discussing the weight motivation clinics as the topic heading suggests.
Nora I pmed you a contact number for me as did not want to post in the thread but
1. This diet does work depending on motivation level
2. Define cheat I have been on 2 weeks holiday from week 14-16 in the programme ( I was on a half board holiday in Salou) and I ate well just watched choices had some deserts .. wine etc and still lost weight by excercising.
3. My story by week 16
Starting Weight 18.2 - Now 13.11 - Have lost 5st 2lbs in Fat
Gained 11lbs Muscle - Waist from 38" to 32/34" still in between Jacket from 46" to 42"
Bmi reduced from 38.1% to 19.8%
I eat well do 3km per day excersise on a threadmill and feel great ..
PS I too was told to expect double loss on medical one but chose to go it myself. Proteins are €45 per week and the odd cd at €15 i think.
I couldn't afford to waste the €600+ which was another motivitation altogether
