mammybear, glad you enjoyed the class. Yep, it is hard to let go of past programmes. i was have in unislim mode and units my first week but getting into the syns now. I use the muller fat free yogurts...not muller corner..the round ones. They are doing 8 for €3 in Tesco. Otherwise they are 75c each. The hifi bars are lovely..nicest cereal bars I have ever tasted. I just eat as much free food as I can and I find the syns go on things like spread, balsamic vinegar, proactive yogurt drinks. I use them about once a week for real treats. Best of luck. Slimming world has a facebook page as well. Your leader might have her own page or there is a general page as well and you might find tips and ideas there. The lifeline online website is really good as well. Best of luck your first week.

Mammybear what county are you in? My local butcher makes us syn free burgers for us. But really you could make your own with lean mince (tesco do 3 packs of lean mince for 10), add some spices in and a raw egg to hold it together and stick in the oven.

I eat muller light fat free yougurts, its about 3 euro for a 6 pack. Today I chopped up some banana and added it and it was lovely. I also snack on red grapefruits, hartlys fat free jelly pots - no syns, cracker bread - 1 syn each I think and mini kit kat thats 5 syns

Here's what I had today

Breakfast - all bran with milk
snack - yougurt and banana
dinner - left over chicken stir fry from last night
snack - 2 plumbs and a red grapefruit
tea will be spag bol
snack -kit kat

the only syns I'll have used is on my kitkat!

I still haven't checked out other snacks, but even give me a list of things you would normally snack on and I'll get the syn values for you. Some will shock the life out of ya!

Girls thanks so much for the info, i really appreciate it :thnk

Am in Dublin mrs sunflower, where is this butcher, does he do other syn free things, think i'm gonna be his new friend :o0

For curiosity i checked how many syns a WW bar was, 4 syns :ooh Me thinks a kitkat is way nicer, am assuming its the 2 finger one??

Will stockup on the mullerlights too and the S/F jelly.
Crisps would normally be my snack in the pm but have checked some already and they are crazy syns even the light versions. I suppose they are high fat so no big surprise there.

just make sure they are the low calorie jelly pots and not the ones with the bits of fruit in them. I was eating loads of them and they had 5 syns each!!
Yep 2 finger kitkat, I've a big family pack. I can actually have 3 tonight :o0

Edited to say I'm in Louth so the butcher is probably to far away!

I was looking at cereals in the book as well today and saw alot with a bar and some on their own but 42g. Was wondering if you didn't have the bar could you have 42g of the other cereals? I was real frustrated the first week with cereals. I eat sp K red berries usually but it is not free so was having to give it 5 syns and the sustain is free and yet higher in fat and calories than the red berries. Eating the sustain now but not keen on it. It must be lower GI or something. I find it so hard to stick to 28g of cereal. It is so little.

Mrs p2009 thats another thing i found hard today was the small bowl of cereal, i usually have a good bowl of it and it'll keep me going till lunch but was hungry early on today. I know when i go back to work i'll find it easier, being at home while on maternity leave is tough going trying to be good with the grub.

I syned a packet of crisps i'd in the press, the lidl linessa ones, ready salted came in at 6.5 syns so not too bad as they are v tasty *)

The sustain is meant to keep you full til lunch. What cereal do you eat? I either have fruit or a yogurt or something free with it to keep me going. If you're a fan of ice cream, the twister ice cream is only 4 syns. Love it. Freddo bars are 5 and curly wurlys are 6 syns.

Hi Mammybear

I know the newer members get this book in my class, it breaks down the items by supermarket or by brand. Ring your group leader and ask if you can buy one

The website also does this, if you go to searchable features, syns online, you can search all branded and non branded foods. Have you logged into the site yet? You can log your weight loss and its great seeing the graph come down!!

I had weetabix this morning you are allowed 2 so that filled me up. I'm going to have my muller light now

HI Mammybear

Thats exactly how you are supposed to feel, its great isn't it? The full feeling isn't the bloated full feeling like you'd normally have if you ate a meal with loads of syns.

My aunt joined last week and had 4 lbs off last night and she was exactly the same thinking she'd have a half a stone on!

I had a bit of a bad day, woke up with a stomach bug so all I could eat without making me ill were the yougurts so I had 3 in work! I tried a banana but that was a bad idea so ate a twix because I was starved. I just couldn't face my tuna salad.

Thankfully DH had tea ready and I ate a chicken kiev (5 syns) sweet potato chips and peas. I feel crap because I didn't eat enough today

Back on track and ready to go for tomorrow!
