Hi girlies,

I think i might start this just by reading your posts! So i have went and ordered the book online. I filled out the questionaire online and got my ideal weight and how long i need to be on first phaze etc. Do i still need to join online or is the book enough?? Sorry just a bit confused - it was saying it was around 60 to join online but dont know if i need to now or just wait for book. I have been trying slimming online for the last few weeks and i really dont like it for the simple fact that it just seems way too complicated. Feel like i have to carry those booklets around everywhere and check how many syns etc i am about to eat and there is just too much to try and remember. Plus i work crazy hours and just dont have the time to be doing the receipes etc. This just seems a lot more straightfoward. I know it may be stickter but that doesnt bother me as long as i have clear guidelines of what i can and cannot have where the slimming world i think gives too much room for error! Different strokes for different folks i think! Anyway hope to have my book in next few weeks and join in! You have done so well so far :-)

Hi Ladies,

Just came across this thread :wv I did the attack phase of the Dukan Diet last week and lost 5lbs - went a bit off track, actually wayyyyy off track over the weekend but only put 2lb back on - but also start my period today which could account for that!!!.

I do really well on restricted diets personally, I think I need that level of strictness - therefore I found this diet really good, by day 2 I had no cravings for sugar or carbs and wasn't hungry at all which is always the hardest part for me. I'm going to go back to the attack phase again until Friday then move onto the cruise phase. I don't feel so deprived when I can till have my coffee and the fact that you can eat as much as you like of the listed foods makes it a bit easier too.

I don't think the attack phase is a long term option but it really kick starts the weight loss and gets rid of any bloating which always makes you feel better.

FYI Oken fat free vanilla yogurts are a nice treat and you can add your oat bran to make it more filling :)

HI errigal - yes cutting out bread and potatoes really makes you shed quickly at the start. I did this in Feb and the weight was falling off me but it does just stick then and thats why something else is needed. I am at that stage now where i have lost a stone (from 10st 2 to nearly 9st now) just by cutting out carbs and doing the gym. But i want to lose another half a stone and think i need something more stricter to get me to the final line now! I cant wait until my book comes!

its not to bad,but im getting soo sick of yoghurts and its only day 2!
i thought reading the book the attack would be easy but its soo boring!! it is good in the fact that ye can eat as much as you want of the allowed foods but they are nothing without veg and spuds
i had my yoghurt and oat bran for breakfast, and scrambled eggs and mackerel for lunch
and i'll have steak and eggs for dinner, going to the shops later and i will get crab sticks they are lovely with vinegar so that will be something different for my taste buds poor things dont know whats going on :o0
i wonder can we have jelly? that would be a nice we sweet thing to have in the fridge
how are ye getting on besides missing your fruit? are ye bored yet?
