Sugar Cravings

Hi girls,

I've recently started the gym and am trying to eat more healthy in general too. But I have SERIOUS sugar cravings. I used to be much more of a savoury person but now I literally cannot walk past cake or chocolate - I have to have it. I also have to have something sweet after my lunch and dinner - even if it's just like a Roses sweet or something, I NEED chocolate!

Is this all in my head do you think - like is it just habit and it's just down to me and willpower to stop eating it? I have a can of diet coke each afternoon to try get my sugar fix from that (I know diet drinks aren't good for you but it stops me eating multiple bars of choc). I also eat an apple at about 11am each day so wouldn't want to be eating too much sugar filled fruit either....any ideas of how to stave off the cravings?

Hi SunnyK, there is nothing worse than sweet cravings. I get cravings for JELLIES, major cravings! I was at home last night and I was trying to distract myself so I brushed my teeth, did my exercise dvd, anything to take my mind off the Haribo that were left over from halloween! (should really get rid them out of the house!)
I find pears or grapes good for my sweet cravings. If you are really bad then have something but make it a treatsize bar/mini packet of Haribo or whatever. My problem is 1 is never enough! O:|
