Working my touche off but the scales is staying static

Hi all

well, i went on a mission earlier on in the summer, to get healthy and lose weight, joined a gym, go twice a week, then got accepted onto a weightloss programme in a gym which is two classes extra a week, so thats 4 times a week in the gym, aswell as that i have really tried so hard and been bloody good as far as altering my diet is for the better. I hopped on the scales though and my weight just seems to be static, and its just utterly depressing. Now i can feel a difference shape wise but i don't understand why when i really am putting in such effort that it isnt being reflected in my weight aswell. People have commented that i look narrower but of course i don't see much of the difference they do as i hop on the scales and its just static as i said.

Has anyone any tips or help or personal experience they would like to share? Anything at all would be appreciated as i don't want to resort to the likes of lipotrim etc been there done that bought the tshirt and it was hell.

Cah have you tried measuring your waist etc. to see if you've lost inches? I run most evenings but I've found if I take a week off for holidays etc. I lose weight on the scales but the belly would definitely be more jelly like. Muscle weighs more than fat so it's possible to not be losing weight but the toning up should mean you notice a difference in your waistline.

Hi couchkitten yeah i took measurements last night alright and i seem to have gone down about 7.5cm/3inches on the thigh so thats a good thing i'm guessing, its just that cursed scales is such a downer i may have to show it the door and get rid of it as its only tormenting me! Thanks for the advice though :thnk and happy running :)

Don't look at the scales at all!!
Measuring tape is the only way to judge if exercise is giving results.
Measure upper arms, bust, waist, hips and upper thighs. You'll be amazed by results, and losing inches is much more satisfying than losing pounds. 3 inches is huge!! Congratulations!!
Those who are easily shocked should be shocked more often.

Oh that scales is going in the bin the minute i get home Dresstoimpress!!! thanks for the congrats! :-8 I'm going to focus on that from now on rather than the scales! :thnk

well my 12 week weight loss program in the gym is up and i was weighed and measured and after the 12 weeks is up i'm down 9.5lbs, and 29.5 cm all over! I am so delighted and motivated to keep going even further :) Just wanted to share my news with fellow wollies!
If I can do it, anybody can, my ass was lazy before this but now I realise what i can achieve :-8 Good luck to all on their weightloss and healthy eating plans!
