Anyone do hot yoga/bikram yoga?

I've just signed up for bikram yoga for a month's trial. So far I really like it and think it will be really good for weightloss / toning. My problem however is that I've no staying power and give things up really easily. Laziness is my biggest problem. So I'd love to hear other people's success stories to help me keep at it!

hi shells bells,

I love the fact that you are getting out there and trying something new for weight loss, but I believe that yoga with or without heat is really good for flexibility. You will definitely improve in this area even after a month. The sweat from the heat is not you burning mad calories, its your bodies thermal temp "internal temp" thats increasing. After a bottle of water and rehydrating, you will have put the ounces back on.

I would gladly direct you if you private me your goals, weight, height etc. Choice of class is vital depending on your goals. Best of luck with it all. Regards michael

Shells bells,
I've done the month trial and found it very good initially, a bit of toning happening but that was from going every second or third day. It was pretty addictive! No noticeable weight loss but then my weight has always been fairly constant. I didn't go back after the trial as I felt it was too repetitive and I was plateau-ing toning-wise so went back to the jogging and gym workouts. Make sure you're not over exerting yourself in class and not hyperextending the joints in class would be my main advice, but you should enjoy it. Have fun and best of luck!

Hi shells bells
I tried and like you my staying power is not great.
I found my skin was lovely.............. but that was just because I made myself drink plenty of water.
the smell of sweat was too much for me but I have to admit I slept so well for the month and since I have stopped not sleeping again.
However I need to put weight on so did not go to loose weight really went for some exercise!
