Pain after stomach exercise

I went to a new class this week and they were doing floor exercises one of them was like a reverse stomach crunch (while lying down, lift your legs off the floor and back down) she made us do 1 rep of 20 and another 2 reps of 15 the next day OMG I defo must never have used that stomach muscle its been two days and every time I cough, laugh roll over in bed its sore :eek I hope this pain will go soon think I'll stick to easier exercises from now on.

Those ones are killers alright :eek but are very good for strengthening your core & toning your tum. Just be careful with your lower back when you're doing them & only go as low as you feel comfortable with your legs

ETA to add, your back should be flat on the floor & not arched

I also feel pain after the stomach exercise because the stomach exercise is very tough, I just start these exercise and feeling very dificulty. I hope I will used to in few days.

Nice post! The tummy muscles, transverse abdominus and the rectus abdominus are proper muscles and fatique just like your biceps or legs do. latic acid builds up giving you that sore feeling during the exercise, but dissipates after 20 secs.

You did a lot of "reverse crunches" on the floor. Just two points, you can put your fingers under the arch of your back which helps keep your back from arching too much. Secondly, reduce the weight of movement, dont kick out so much and only bring your knees in so that they are right above your belly button. last doing 10 reps without rocking your hips is better than doing 50 where you rocking fast enough to make the cd in the stereo jump ;-)
