Couch 2 5k

Hey,
I started C25K last year around this time & got as far as the 2nd week & then retired :-8
So I started again lately & I'm up to the end of week 2 now and enjoying it much more than I did last year. However, I've been using the Rundouble app for my phone and the first 2weeks were free but after that you've to pay for the rest of the programme. Now it's only around €1.20 so in the grand scheme of things it's not exactly a deal breaker but just wondering what apps the rest of you are using. I've an android phone. I think I'll more than likely just pay for the rest of the programme as I like the way it's laid out but interested to hear what the rest of you are using.

I just use the podcasts on http://runningintoshape.com/5k-training-downloads/ the musics pretty good (pop / RnB), and she tells you when to walk and when to run.

I have only 2 runs left before I finish C25K, wondering what to move onto after that. I don't have enough time in the mornings to start moving to a 10k, but i'm wondering will i start maybe trying to improve my times on 5k...any of you have any ideas ?

Hi curleysu,

Why don't you just go for 30 minute runs and try to get faster and cover more distance in the time? I did bridge to 10k after c25k but it does require more time.

Hi everyone!
Have just finished week 5 run 3! Ran 20 minutes! Delighted and shocked. Was completely fine. I ran fairly slow because I was afraid of dying but I oculd definitely have run faster! Ran 2.7k in the 20 minutes so am delighted with that.
Have signed up for the great ireland run next Sunday so I will be doing that. Plan on running for half, having a little walk and then running for other half. Will be delighted if I come in around the 1 hour 20 minutes mark.

Really enjoyed the run last night, was able to breath and run with ease. Knee got a little sore but was fine otherwise.
I was having trouble with the 60 second run at the start of the program so am over the moon, 20 minutes is definitely the longest I have ever run!

thanks for posting that link curlysu. I was using imapmyrun on the iphone but I used the above podcasts this evening for the first time and they are great for telling you when to jog and then to walk, and all to lively music.

Hey girls, did the 10k run last wknd, well I probably ran about 7k of it. Actually felt quite good after it, not like I did after doing to 5k in February. Have been so lazy since though and I haven't been out at all this week. Will definitely get back out on Monday. Glad to hear everyone is getting in well. Well done blue2012 on finishing week 5

Hi all,

I am on week 2 day 2 of this programme and I'm kinda surprised that I am actually enjoying it. I'm finding it hard to diet at the mo- social life too hectic :yelrotflmaosmilie: I'm just wondering if anyone who is doing this has noticed much weightloss with it.

I'm hoping to lose a few pounds!

Hi Tiffanybride, well done on the c25k :) I just started week 3 yesterday and have 2 say im loving it.. I can definately see a difference in my body shape since i started and my clothes seem 2 fit me better so i guess it is doing something for me. I am also watching my diet and have cut out alot of carbs(bread, potatos, pasta) which has helped. If ur not eating right, u could exercise 5 times a week and not lose any weight. Good luck with thr rest of the programme :)

Well girls, I've finished the C25K...very happy with how it went, it took a lot longer than 9 weeks, with holidays, and getting sick, but I got there in the end up ! I've 10 days to go to my wedding so its a good time to finish up. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here, this thread was a great help to keep at it :thnk
