A quick question - I've had to stop for a week thanks to a minor medical issue. Should be ok to start again on Monday but I'm not sure whether I should start again from scratch or pick up wher I left off? I had got as far as week 2, run 2. Maybe I'll just start week 2 again and see how I'm getting on...

hi there fixibelle, I have been told that if you miss a week running it can set you back two weeks so depending on where you are I would take it from there maybe. However I could be corrected on this, there might be someone else with more running experience on the forum that might know better, Ive only been doing this for about 4 months...:)

I got patella tendonitis a few years ago from going a bit nuts hillwalking, did a 80k hillwalk over 3 days but didnt really train for it properly. It was terrible sore and I went to a physio who kind of taped it up for me. It still niggles now and again. Ive been told recently that that kind of injury can happen when your inner lower thigh muscles (above the knee kind of area) have not had a chance to get strong enough, maybe you need to take it handy and repeat a week before going on to the next stage?? Again Im no sage on this kind of thing but its just my experience :)

hi,

im on week 2 day 2 of c25k using a treadmil..i was just wondering at what speeds people at this stage were walking and running? I feel it after the workout and do be a real sweaty betty but just wanted to see if I should be pushing myself more.
HAve been allergic to exercise for years and running was definitly something I wouldn't even entertain but am loving this and can't wait for the days I can go to gym! :o)ll :o)ll

Hi there, check with the instructors in the gym to make sure but the running should be at least 9kph. I use the hill programme when I'm in the gym but usually I run outside. Walking wise I would do about 6kph.

Recently started the Couch 2 5k and i'm just starting week 2 tomorrow. Had started it before and it triggered a small issue that I have with my back and worried about making that worse, I stopped.

I started eating a "clean diet" 4 weeks ago and I've lost 5 pounds. So, inspired I started running again (well mostly walking right now) on grass with better runners...so far, all good with no back pain.

Very motivated after reading this thread.

Just started today. This thread inspired me to download the app. I found week 1 run 1 very easy and was wondering if I should stick with this for the rest of the week?

I was in the same situation at the beginning but would advise to stick with the programme. I do it on treadmill and to challenge myself I upped thr speeds and hill!

I started the C25K again last week and completed week 2 day 1 yesterday evening. So far it's going much better than my first attempt but I'm still struggling to find a good breathing rhythm. I'm just doing 3 workouts a week (Tues evening, Thurs evening and Sat morning) and didn't want to skip the first couple of weeks. I've never jogged/ ran before so I want to give the muscles in my legs a chance and don't want to over do things. I'm hoping to get to the stage where I can run 20 minutes three times a week and then hopefully add swimming and pilates to my routine. I'm starting small though!

I'm just starting week four now and really getting into it. Its very effective as its only 30 mins three times a week but I can really see my fitness improve and feel toned all over. I used to work out for an hour and not see the same progress - I think because it's like interval training and the body cant get used to the routine for too long! Happy running x
