Im going to sort of follow it :-8 Going to follow slimming world diet and OT exercise program but I think it will kind of cross over anyway with the recipes. Also signing up for the 5k in the park. Im not a complete beginner jogger as I did C25k last year so hopefully Ill be back up to 5k by the 18th of Feb. Logged all my stats last night and I have 1st 2lbs to lose - although that will put me under 10st and Im 5'7. Target this week is -2lbs.

Took my measurements the other day as I found last time I was trying to lose weight I could feel it more in my clothes than on the scales as I just have the stone to go maybe thats why I struggled a bit. or thats possibly wishful thinking! :o0

What about snacks and tea/coffee on the OT plan? Are you allowed any?

you are allowed fruit mid morning and mid afternoon- no bananas though.

Think there was something about sugar free jelly in there too but they haven't really covered that part yet.

Thanks eefc. Think the SW diet will suit me better than the OT diet. Although yesterday I had granola and fruit for breakfast with fat free yogurt thinking I was great and just checked and its 6 bloody syns for a tiny portion! >:o( New bag of granola going to the birds!!!

Best of luck Amy.

I've been following Slimming World diet since October and I'd lost 1.5 Stone at Xmas. I did put 2.5lbs on over Christmas but I'm not gonna torment myself over that.

I'm gonna stick to the SW diet (no Olive Oil, keeping an eye on Dairy & Bread for HEA&B) but continue to get ideas for meals from the OT diet.
E.g - I made lasange last night for dinner (OT Inspiration) but made it with the SW Recipe

I'm gonna follow the OT exercise regime though. Didn't get to do it yesterday (Grace was jogging 10 mins - flat out running for 5 mins, 4 times) as I'd my Weigh In for Slimming World but gonna be an extra good girl this weekend and do lots of exercise

Oh, I'm following Grace btw - except the giving up the ciggies bit >:o)

Well done on the weightloss LR thats brilliant. Grace fast walking and then faster walking last night? That would be a very tough jog/run routine for a beginner. I missed my exercise last night Im going to go jogging and do the exercises today instead.

" I want an interval walk consisting of 10 min fast/5 min very fast and 4 sets, so that's a full hour!"

Im not a big salmon fan but I think Ill try todays OT dinner, it sounds good. Seeing as really Im following SW I might have a baked potato with it. Would there be any syns in this LR? Would it just be 2.5 for the honey?

Dinner
Lime and chili Baked salmon with roasted vegetables - Day 2
Serves 4 - (Each serving contains approx 450-500 Kcal)
Ingredients
4 (500-600g) salmon or trout fillets
500g courgettes, thinly siced
800g parsnips, thinly sliced
100ml balsamic vinegar
60ml soy sauce
1tbsp honey
Juice of 1 lime or lemon
1 medium hot red chili sliced
2tbsp oregano
Method:

1. Spray oil on a large oven dish and place the sliced vegetables on it.
2. Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar and soy sauce. Place in 200ºC oven for 20-30mins.
3. Mix together the sliced chili, oregano, juice of lime and honey.
4. Place the salmon fillets skin side down on a large oiled sheet of tinfoil lining a baking tray.
5. Pour the lime and chili mixture over the fish and close the foil to make a parcel.
6. Halfway through cooking turn the vegetables on their tray in the oven.
7. Place the salmon in the oven and cook for 12-15 minutes until the fish is cooked through and the veg are nicely roasted.
8. Serve

Yuk... Salmon

I'll have to get a Free recipe of the SW website for tonights dinner

Yeah - that looks pretty good for Slimming World, only syns would be your honey.

I must of misheard your man on the video, I thought it was light jogging and then flat out jogging - it did seem a little weird for me that it was running so quickly. Walking definitely makes more sense! :o0

LR he could have been talking about the 5K training too but that was for last night I think.

I think myself and H2B are going to do our own 5K the same day as the one in Pheonix Park- wouldnt make sense to go up for a walk!!

Any suggestions for a weekend away I have coming up in 2 weeks- I need to start planning now!

hi ladies,

Not sure how I feel regarding slimming world. My mum has got great results in her first three months, nearly 2 stone down, but that said... This "syns" business?. You "have" to eat your allowance of syns! For me, its like being forced fed curly whirlys etc. I have a sweet tooth and to give me a bar of choc will only start me on a downward choc spiral stairway to hell for the rest of the evening. Sugary foods will bring on sugar cravings after consumption, so the syns make no sense to me. Eat a syn if you feel like it, but dont feel obliged.

OT, I never watch it, but as you know "clean eating" is not just for the duration of the programme or a diet. Its a lifestyle change.

If you are heading away for a break, eat at restaurants that have good high protein selections and stay away for buffets. Earn your treats. If you know you are going to have a dessert in the evening, get an hours walk in through the day. It could be 30 mins x 2 or one 60 min walk. Burn the cals before eating them is the key.

Hope this info helps.

Best regards
Michael
