July 2012 - let's do it together?

July 2012 - let's do it together?

Postby colisaunt » Sun Jan 08, 2022 9:17 pm

I've just eaten "the last supper"! Back to school tomorrow and operation starvation for me!! Started doing my own version of a low carb diet before xmas and it was going well - lost 8lbs. But then came xmas and soo many nights out and meals out and it was hard to stick to anything.
So, my diet starts tomorrow! I can and I will do it. Getting married abroad in July and I'm damned if I'm getting married at this weight. It's just not gonna happen!
So my plan is this - tomorrows food - berries and low fat natural yog for breakfast, goats cheese salad for lunch and a beef stirfry for dinner. No potatoes/rice/bread/pasta. Snack on fruit or nuts. Going to restart the couch to 5k tomorrow too. I have almost 3 stone to lose to be at my ideal weight for my height but I'd be delighted if I could lose 2 stone. (1 stone by April and another by July maybe?)
Soooooo.......anyone wanna join me for motivation? I must say Im actually looking forward to eating healthily after all the xmas crap!

Have you tried slimming world? I've lost a stone in the last 7 weeks with it and have done little or no exercise and I can hand on my heart say I have never been hungry on it. Only put up 2lbs over xmas and I can honestly say I know I'll be able to keep the weight off. I don't think a low carb diet is a good idea if you plan on doing a lot of exercise. Carbs give you energy and if you're going to be running then you need them.

With slimming world potatoes/rice/pasta is a free food and you can eat as much of it as you like. All veg is free, all fruit is free, all lean meat is free.

Alwaysbroke - Ive tried almost everything - not slimming world though! There are no classes anywhere near me. The low carb thing was working for me though before christmas so im going to give that a try again. I know what you mean about the energy thing and I may have carbs with one meal as time goes on, Ill see how it goes. Will keep ye posted!
Glad to have some responses so quick! We can keep each other motivated, however we manage to lose it! :o)ll

If you pick up the Mirror today and tomorrow there's a slimming world supplement in it. Ask your newsagent if they have any left from yesterday and saturday too! It really is great!

Best of luck with it anyway!

Whoop 2012 how're ya getting on? We've the same amount to lose in the same time frame.
I've finally gotten around to updating my ticker! The low carb thing's going well for me. Lost 2.5 pounds last week. Weighing myself on a Wednesday - same day as operation transformation! Joining the gym on Tuesday. They have a special "bride programme" where a trainer monitors you. Met him yesterday - no alcohol for first 4 weeks of training and no more eaing out - even if I'm being good while I'm out. Got my first training session with him Tuesday - reckon I wont be able to walk Wednesday, but it's gonna be worth it!

How're all the other July brides doing?

No alcohol for 4 weeks???? Ha i lasted 1 1/2 after Christmas.....

Starting slimming world on Tuesday and hoping to do couch to 5k too, I haven't ran anywhere in years.
For anyone that's doing the couch2 5k can I ask where you do it? I'd feel a bit silly running and walking for those short times at the start
