Hi girls, I'm a size 12 and 5'3 so while I'm not incredibly huge, I am overweight and like all women, want to lose the flab! I'm looking for another girl to kind of buddy up with - to swap email addresses and phone numbers and keep each other motivated every day, compare what we've eaten and how much exercise has been done etc. I used to do this with my sister and it really kept me motivated, but she's lost the buzz for it Anyone interested? Come on you flabby lot, anyone with me?!!

That's the problem, I have found NOTHING that works for me!
I done weight watchers in the past and the weight dropped off but I went with a friend, i wouldn't be mad about going by myself.
I was going to join Slimming World online but to be honest, I can't afford it - 70e for 3 months I think it was? I know that if I break that down to a weekly amount it's not much, but this month has been very tough financially for me so I can't afford the 70e all in one go at the moment. I'm alo a bit worried that I'll pay the 70e and then not like the plan and let it fizzle out after a couple of weeks, this is why I need a buddy to keep me going!
I want to do the couch to 5k, I think this would be very good for me as I don't just want to be slimmer, I want to feel healthier and more energetic too.
How about you, are you following an eating plan?

Im pretty much the same, I did Slimming world before Christmas and dropped a stone very quickly but then no matter what i did could not get down any further.... I have all the books information etc so trying to stick by that....
I did find it useful going to group, wouldnt of stuck to it online....
I want to lose weight and be healthier... Im getting mariied in just over three months so I have that to focus on, but also want to get my body in shape and healthy for if we decide to have more kids!!!
After reading your post today and replying I was so good, I honestly jumped up and joined the gym (which I have been treadtening for a long time now) then when I got home I made a veg soup for the week.... cant believe something as simple as seeing a message could inspire you.... Im dreadful for wanting to do something with somebody and then when they cancel i end up not bothering, which is crap...
are you working or what is your routine like?? Im only working mornings now so have time on my hands, just need to get off my bum... have seen a bit about that couch to 5k just need to get the details....
where are you from??:)

I work full time and I'm also at college part time, so I find it very difficult to make time for exercise! I always feel so tired, it's a vicious circle as I feel that if I worked out I'd have more energy, but I need the energy to start working out! Well done you for joining the gym! That's a great start. Do you have a smartphone? If so, you can download the Couch25k app. The first time you go you walk briskly for 5 minutes to warm up, then you jog for 1 minute, walk for 1.5, jog for 1, walk for 1.5...this goes on for 25 minutes and that's it! Then each time you do it, the time you jog is increased slightly and the workouts gets a bit longer. The app I'm using is structured to be done 3 days a week, for 9 weeks. I won't be able to do it 3 nights a week (dud to college) but 2 should be OK. Right that's it, I've decided I'm doing the first part of it tonight. See, we're inspiring each other already!! I can't let you be ahead of me, joining the gym and eating your healthy dinners! I live in Louth, where are you?

I'm in Ardee so not far at all!
Yeah I think I'll give the morning run a try, it's just getting my bum out of bed! I think I'll find it more rewarding in the morning too, it might give me a bit of a boost for the day ahead.
I'm doing a business degree, I'm only halfway through the first year so I have a way to go yet.
That's mad that you're only down in Drogheda. My OH is from Duleek.
I'm terrible with food, I kind of forget I'm meant to be on a diet and end up buying or eating loads of crap. Then I feel really bad and go on a health buzz for about 2 days. I'm your typical yo-yo dieter. Carbs are my biggest weakness, I love a nice wedge of bread or some fat chips!
Fairplay for going and getting the personal trainer, you're way ahead of me!

Im hoping to get up in the morning, I have my stuff packed for work for the morning... so hopefully feeling motivated then...
fairplay to you working full-time and doing a business degree, no wonder your wrecked... how many years will it take? are you working in Dublin or down Ardee way??
Did you do that operation Transformation walk that was up your way? I wanted to do it but ended up out on the Friday night... lol so could barely get out of bed let alone a 5k walk:)

I'm a blow in too, all the way from England! I didn't hear of the Operation transformation, I don't know how I missed that, I'm always on the look out for fitness stuff around my area. Did you do your early morning workout today? I couldn't get out of bed, it was just SOOOOO cold! The ground was so frozen I thought it had snowed when I first opened the curtains, so I jumped back into bed for an extra half an hour So are you all set for the wedding? I got married in June last year, I remember the feeling of the last couple of months before the big day - sheer panic!

Go Sally, Go Sally!! Well done you, did you go to the gym? I've found a slimming world group on a Wednesday night that I'm going to join next week, the girl I work with has lost nearly a stone in 3 weeks on it! What are the suits like, grey or black? I loved picking them out, all the men looked so handsome I had Coral for my colours - the bridesmaids dresses were one shouldered and floor length, I loved the dresses so much. The mens buttonholes were white roses but the tips of the petals were a kind of orangey/coral colour so they matched perfectly. We got married in Carlingford, my wedding report is floating around somewhere under my old username MichelleMyBelle, I think I took the pics down though after a few weeks. To be honest - No I wouldn't do it again! I absolutely hated the planning of my wedding. I got little to no help from anyone as my family is in England. I found it very stressful! Although I loved the day itself, you really do feel like a princess and everyone is so happy and in great spirits. So, have you got your dress all sorted? What's it like? And how are you having your hair?

I was so good, I went to the gym Friday morning and then I was ment to go for a walk with Brians Friend, but she had to cancel so I actually went to the gym!!! I honestly am never this motivated!!! I joined a gym last year and I reckon I went to it maybe 5 times in the whole year lol.... Today I didnt even get out of my jammies lol.... but have bag packed for the morning so hoping I can get out of bed.... I loved Slimming World, my first week I lost 7lb was so shocked, like your friend I lost a stone, but then I started cheating and Christmas was a killer... I dont go there any more but I have all the books and try stick to it:) I would recommend it though and you should definetly stick to group... it helps so much... I thought that was a fab idea with the flowers for the lads... I red your wedding report, you guys had a fab day, sounded brilliant even got a bit emotional I have to admit... Love Carlingford, we where at a wedding there in Sept, the food was fabulous and the staff where great, Brians sister is getting married there April 13... I know how you feel, my MOH is in England, hoping to come home soon, then my mam is so busy, poor Brian is getting roped into everything... finding it very stressful though... Mam keeps telling me to enjoy it... did you find on the day you where able to relax?? I am stressing over stupid things so have to just relax... 3 months left tomorrow Yeah have the dress a while, its due to come into the the shop in the next few weeks, its Ivory, sweethard neckline and goes out a little bit, hair is up in a lose style, girls are wearing Fuschia (i am not a pink girl was surprised i went with this), we're getting married in a church in Cavan and then to the Slieve Russell down there... so looking forward to it.... I have two children girl 9 and boy 7 so they are so excited... cant wait... So how are you getting on?? whree you bad over the weekend?? I have to admit I had a chinese and was drinking last night (oh yeah and some chocolate lol), I must look and see are they doing another walk in Ardee with Operation Transformation... Think they do the 5k one there too in a few weeks.... are you good at eating during the week?? I find if im planing I am so much better... you wont believe the food you will be able to eat with SW!!! i thought I would have been up half a stone my first week lol....

I was very bad over the weekend! It's the hubbies bday so we had friends over - I cooked a big curry and drank way too much wine, so I was a very naughty girl! I have zumba tonight so I'll get to work some of it off. Really looking forward to SW now, I think going to a group is just what I need. You're doing amazingly well, all this going to the gym - well done! I used to live in Bettystown and went to the gym at the Bettystown Court, I used it all the time, but when we moved away I didn't bother joining anywhere else. Would you consider going back to SW? As you only have 3 months to go until the wedding, and you lost a stone in a month before - if you were doing it combined with the gym, the weight would fall off you! Your dress sounds lovely, mine was also Ivory with a sweetheart neckline, we have the same great taste! I'll see if I can put a pic up (any chance to show it off!!)

I was quite calm on the morning of the wedding - It just felt very surreal, like it was happening to someone else. Even when I put the dress on I felt like a bit of a fraud - like I was just dressing up in a grown ups clothes for the day! I didn't get nervous until it was time to go to the church. As we were next to the church, my Husband walked round with the best man and groomsman, and I was watching him from the window - that's when it hit me!! But I had plenty of champagne, this really helped to calm me down lol. When I got to the top of the aisle, my Dad was more nervous than I was bless him You will find it hard to relax on the day but to be honest, that's all part of it. It adds to the excitement and the days flies by, so my advice would be to just enjoy it and don't worry about anything! I regret spending my last few days stressing over the most ridiculous things, that didn't matter and no one noticed. I'm so jealous of you, I'd love to be having my big day all over again! I have to admit that I have done my hair and makeup a couple of times since and put on my dress and shoes, just to walk around the house and fell like a princess again Have you booked your honeymoon?

I can definitely see myself putting the dress on again, A few of my good friends are married now so I have threatened to have a wedding dress party... Your dress is fab, we definitely have very simular taste, mine one is so like that, just a bit different at the end!!! You where in the Bettystown Court!!! Me Too lol, thats mad, Althought if we would of seen each other it would of been me dropping the kids off for a swim lol.... I joined Boyne Valley now, havent done a class yet, but happy doing my own thing... want to get to a stage where I can go twice a day... I can only get an hour in in the morninig,,, I want to lose 20kg ... I found that SW was just at an difficult time...and know with getting to the gym for half six in the morning im ready for bed at 8 lol, if there was one around lunch time id go... but I think I will start sticking to it religiously.... Hoping to get weighted in on Thursday or Friday with the gym and the guy is going to do my meassurements too, so fingers crossed... We are hoping to head over west (I have never been... ) for ten nights the weds after the wedding, then im back in work, but I work t rm time, so we are going to go to Frances for 4 weeks during the summer then as our proper Honeymoon... What did you guys do for your Honeymoon?? I saw that Zumba class on T.V the other day it actually looks like really good fun.... is it a good work out??

Zumba is a great workout, I was knackered last week! I wouldn't recommend the one at Aura though as it was very crowded, there wasn't much room and I couldn't see the instructor at the front. I'm only going back because I paid for 3 classes in advance, once I've done the 3 I'll be looking for somewhere else to go! Oh my God, I'm mega jealous - a 4 week honeymoon!! That will be so worth the wait, what a great break to have. We went to Greece for 10 days, visited some of the Islands there, including Santorini, it was fab Dying to go back one day but it worked out quite expensive so I'm not sure when we'll be able to afford it - maybe on our 25th wedding anniversary! I was just looking at the SW website, there's a group in Donore at 3.30pm on a Tuesday and one in the City North at the same time on a Wednesday. There's also a few groups on at 9.30am. I've got a tape measure at home so I think I'll measure my waist, hips etc and track my weight loss that way, I don't really care how much I weigh, it's the inches that matter and being able to wear some nice clothes this summer. I found it very hard to lose weight before my wedding and I actually put on a few pounds, I had too much going on to worry about what I was eating as well. When I'm stressed I eat. Where are you getting your dress from?
