Postby Daisyboo » Fri Mar 09, 2022 10:55 am

I had been using the same pill for years, but since I had my lo, Im like a demon on it. Im either in rotten mood, crying, or very snappy at everyone . I had been fine on it before I had my last lo. I also get very, very bad period pains for a full week before I have af . Was anyone like this on it, did you change .

Definitely change pill. Go to your doc and tell them your symptoms and ask for a new one to try. Give new pills 3 months and if it doesn't suit then try another.
I haven't had any kids but those symptoms sound exactely like ones I had on a pill. I was on Yasmin for over a year and started getting them so changed to microlite and was ok then. Your hormones have changed since having your lo so definitely have a look for a pill that suits better.
Poor thing, nothing is worst than hormonal madness. You actually feel like you are going crazy!

Hi Daisyboo,

I was on Yasmin years ago and I got the worst mood swings on it. Made me feel rotten and eventually came off the pill completely as a result. Got diagnosed with endometriosis 6 years ago and was told I had to go back on the pill to control it and I kicked off because I'd had such a bad experience on it before. The doctor suggested a pill that releases different levels of hormones throughout the month to mimic your natural hormonal cycle and I really reluctantly agreed. I've been on it since with very few problems (Logynon is the pill I'm on) and although I'd still rather not be on it at all, it beats the hell out of endometriosis and/or mood swings! I get ratty the day or two before my af but sure don't we all?!!

To be honest with you I can't remember. I was on it about 8 years ago! I think when coming off the pill though it can take a month or 2 for your body to regulate itself. Really not 100% sure though sorry :-8

Daisyboo - I was such a wagon with moods I can't remember if I had headaches or not. I was wicked and felt like crap. It takes at least a month for your system to go back to normal after stopping the pill. It too me about 2 months.
You should go to doc and get new prescription for a new pill soon enough, you will need to start it on the first day of your next period if you have missed a month. That's if you want to go back on the pill at all. I have friends who have come off for good because of moods and they are pretty happy using other types of contraception.

Thanks for the reply Blue :wv . Im going to give myself a break from the pill, and see if these awful moods/crying all the time stops, before I start on another new one .I dont plan on having any more babies, so we are using other forms of contraception for now.

Hey daisyboo,

I came off the pill recently and it took me four months to have a period. (boy was I glad to see that period) but I was an absolute antichriswere week before hand. we didn't know what was going on. It was way worse then before. I had been on logynon for years but had to change due to it being risky for obese people (90% pills are) so I was moved to cerazette but it just didn't agree with me. I has been on pills for 10 years and just delighted to give my body a break. Fingers crossed my moods improve soon :-)
