Re: Where am I going wrong?
You seem to be doing a fair bit of exercise so you should be seeing some sort of results if you are watching what you eat too.
Have you been doing that same exercise for absolutely ages though? If your body has just gotten used to that then maybe you need to totally change it up - try a bootcamp or something? Re: Where am I going wrong?
You say your eating healthy but what exactly are you eating??
I thought I was eating healthy until I joined slimming world and seen that the amount of bread and dairy I eat... Re: Where am I going wrong?
I'll try a different class next time sessions are up.
I've gotten into the running a little more in a last few weeks so will give it another couple of weeks before I see results. I do find I rob toast off himself in the morning which I never did before so I've cut that out now. I've swapped from sandwiches to salads & rice cakes for lunch. Snacks: yoghurt & berries with 8-10 almonds Dinner: white meat/fish, veg & potatoes/rice/pasta (I do find I eat too much pasta so I don't have it very often) Any ideas? I've a fitting soon and really want to shift these lbs.
Re: Where am I going wrong?
Weight can be a tricky one and can depend in time of day/month! And also muscle is heavier than fat this is my motto at the mo! I found that numbers on scales change minimally but I look and feel better!
How do u feel in your clothes? Any changes in how tight/loose something is? [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Losing weight is about 80% food and 20% exercise. Are you really really watching what you eat?????
Llifting weights is important also to losing weight. Cardio is great also but weights tone you up fantastic also. I do a mixture of both each week. I tone up very quickly with lifting. Re: Where am I going wrong?
Im the same i have recently started doing boxercise Monday + Wed and Zumba Tue + Friday ive up my cardio and started doing more weights i do feel toned more but my weight has not changed im cracking up now mind ye im only on my 3rd week of it, i eat well (I think) im hoping that in a couple weeks i will see a huge difference

Dont just go by the scales. Take your measurements and see if they change in a couple of weeks. If you dont have a lot to lose you may notice bigger changes inches wise than lbs.
Re: Where am I going wrong?
Thanx all!
Took all the advice into consideration. Cut out the carbs almost completely-really didn't realise how much I was having until I did this! Down 2.5 lbs this week, 1.5 inches off the waist, 1 inch off tummy & 1 inch off hips! I'm drinking loads more water. I'm not sleeping well at night so finding it very difficult to get up in the morning to go running before work. Any tips for beating the tiredness?!
Re: Where am I going wrong?
Gosh you're doing great missus. Losing 2.5lbs in a week. Take it handy though. 2.5lbs in one week is quite alot to be losing IMO, depending on what your starting weight was of course. Make sure you are eating enough, well enough of the right stuff but enough to fuel your body.
My cals are 1500/day, set to lose 1lb a week. I've gained 3 lbs but I've toned up alot. That's muscle weight. I'd say you are tired because you are over doing it. Have a super early night one night. Getting up early to run is hard. I exercise at 8pm most times, gym and running outside. Re: Where am I going wrong?
Weigh in today-up 1.25 lbs.
Furious with myself. I was away for the weekend-tried to be good but was difficult because we ate out also due period so may have water retention? Couldn't get out for run this morning because I'm in work early today but have class this evening. I've started taking green tea capsules? Anyone taking these? I really need to start seeing these lbs drop asap.
Re: Where am I going wrong?
Yeah Hayden it is v likely it is fluid retention, sp with period. You should only weigh yourself once a week, on the same day and at the same time. I find first thing in the morning works for me.
I often go up and down a kg in a day, and it can be very upsetting so stay away from the scales! Try cut down salty foods as well as they make you retain water. I usually cut out snacking altogether, just drink loads of water. What weight are you currently if you don't mind me asking? Don't answer if you do! The last few lbs can often be the hardest. I haven't tried green tea tablets, my body doesn't react well to caffeine, and they are v high in it. But my sister takes them and she finds them fine. Don't take them at night! Try up your protein and your iron if you are feeling tired, the exercise could be taking it out of you. Turkey meat is high in Iron and low in fat and turkey mince is surprisingly nice!
Re: Where am I going wrong?
Good point about protein, our kettlebells trainer always tells us its important to eat protein after a workout.
Re: Where am I going wrong?
Weigh in today.
Down 4.5lbs. Was disheartened last week when I was up but kept up routine and delighted with results this week. I am feeling a bit down in the dumps this week. Think it's a combination of tiredness, little or no carbs and stress related to work and wedding. Still, happy with weight loss ![]()
Re: Where am I going wrong?
Make sure you track your calories. Then your diet doesn't have to be restrictive.
I use www.myfitnesspal.com to track mine. I don't cut out any foods, but I make sure they fit into my daily calories. The better choices you make, the more satisfied you can be on those calories e.g. carbs tend to be higher calorie food, so if I want bread I might have 1 slice of bread and 3 eggs, which would keep me very full, as opposed to 2 slices of bread and one egg. You can mess around with what you eat to try to see what keeps you from being hungry on your allotted calories. You should also try to stick close to your macros e.g. eating enough protein, the right amount of fat etc. There's a lot of good nutrition and fitness info on the forum too. Good luck ![]()
