Root canal tooth hurts during menstruation?

Hi,
Waiting to get permanent filling on tooth that had root canal, but the tooth becomes very sensitive to temperature during the week of my period. Does menstruation affect gums or teeth to make them sensitive? The pain stops as soon as I'm off my period.
