Fatter but same weight??

Its sounds mad but although I've been the same weight since October I seem to have gotten fatter! The scales stay the same at 9stone 7 but my clothes don't fit the same!! Does anyone know how this can happen?

Could you have lost muscle mass? Muscle weighs more than fat so you could be toned and weigh the same as a less toned but fatter person.

Or else buy a new scales :o0

Thats probably exactly what it is O:|

I haven't been to the gym in nearly exactly a month and was going twice a week up to then. I wonder if I can get back to that in 3 weeks, I felt great at my hens last month and now raging with myself that my clothes aren't fitting as well!

I’d say it is def that - I know from bitter experience!

My example is that I weighed whatever I did in July 2011 and my body fat was about 28% as measured in the gym.

I went back for re-assessment in November 2011 and was surprised to see my weight was exactly the same as my clothes weren’t fitting me, in fact a dress I bought in July was a size too small. I figured it out when my body fat was measured and it was almost 35%!! So although I was the same weight, I had 7% more fat and therefore less muscle. :ooh

Worse again when you think that muscle weighs more than fat so would take even more fat gained than muscle lost to maintain my weight. :duh:

Hence I kickstarted my diet and am down 2st 1lb!! Now that I’m closer to my target I’m less obsessed with how much I weigh and give more credence to how I look so I’m aiming to look toned and healthy, not just thinner. If ya get me. My experience last summer with my body fat % taught me that!!

I think I was trying to fool myself into thinking because the scales was the same that I must be the same. All the while sittin on my ass doing no exercise. O:|

Im the opposite the weight is not going down on the scales but im down a dress size, will have to keep an eye on that now when im not as motivated after the wedding :o(
