Hi all

Just chatting with a couple of ladies on another thread, and we're all attending Sims soon to start our first IVF/ICSI cycle. We're hoping to keep each other company along the way, so if anyone else is starting in Sims soon, or indeed any other clinic, would be great to have you for company too!

Hi Girls,
Great idea for our own thread. Hopeful and Star sun you'll be way ahead of me, i'll be annoying you for advice at every opportunity!! my appt not till 12th feb! dying to get going now. Hoping to have all the tests ie. SA and SIS (and possibly Chicago Bloods) done by mid march as we're off to oz for a month then and hoping to get cracking on the ICSI then as soon as we get back mid april. I'd imagine Sims will put me on the pill before my hol. I have my lap on 26th feb. Hopefully it wont be bad news. I have a heart shaped womb which can lead to miscarriages so hoping its not too bad (this is the reason the doc wants to do the lap, to go in and have a proper look at me).

Here's to our 2010 pregnancies :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust:

Hey girls,
Im so upset today. Wasnt due my AF until 23rd which worked out perfect as my 1st apt is 21st, which meant if i was to go on the pill i could still start it this month. My dreaded AF came today which now means im a whole month behind as i cant start the pill till next month now O:| O:| .
Also i think i read somewhere that your SIS has to be done between day 1-10... if this is correct im also going to have to wait a month for that also as im sure they wont give my a apt before day 10.

Really just want to get started now :o(

Hi again girls! I think this thread is a great idea as it's specifically about SIMS and the journey we'll have with them! I've my first appt with them on the 29th so it'd great to get feedback from you if you've already been there. Best of luck to you (and me!!)

Hi Girls! Special salute to my friend Star Sun. I'm new here. However I was reading and following everyone's story for the last few weeks. Tried to register few times, but was having trouble. Now that I'm here I really think it's good support for all of us. I have started my IVF journey at Sims. My next steps are the Scans, first is on the 19th Jan, second 27th, and the last 29th. I found Sims Staff very professional and easy to talk to. Was really nervous at the beginning, now getting exited. I wish all of us peace of mind and positive result!!!!!! :babydust: :babydust:

HI Girls

Feather, yeah the IVF sticky is great and really helpful but I was talking to Star Sun and Ginger on a few threads we'd set up ourselves about issues to do with Sims in particular and we're all doing it around the same time so we thought it'd be nice to start up a thread *) We're already finding that we're seeing the same consultant etc. so it's interesting to swap notes!

Ginger I remember you saying that about the shape of your womb, but the SIS is supposed to help the cons know exactly where to place the embryos so hopefully that should help that.

Star Sun that's a pain about your AF, mine was early this month too, weird. I'm going to ring about the SIS tomorrow so I'll ask about the having to have it between days 1- 10 and let you know.

OuiOui that's great your appt is so soon, that's the same week I'm in for the SIS I think, we may pass in the waiting room :o0

Positive sounds like you're well on your way - so you've done the Pill and sniffer so far have you? How did you find it all? What scan is this again, the vaginal ultrasound is it? To check you're down regulated before starting your meds (I'm reading this off my schedule!!). Wow, so exciting! Let us know how you get on...

On second day of Pill today girls, AF still pretty heavy, need to try adn get my thoughts together of what to ask them when I ring tomorrow...

Hi Soon thanks for that :thnk

Star Sun, told my boss today that we're doing IVF and she's so lovely and supportive, thank God. She said to just book whatever I needed to and they would work around me. I rang Sims just there but because my AF started 4 days earlier than they had estimated, the girl on reception said I'd have to check with the nurse handling our file as to whether the dates should all change so left a message with Beppi and just waiting for a call back from her now. Will update you when I know.

Talk later girls

hello girls, we just started with SIMS today and were told we will be doing IVF/ICSI. We both had bloods done and the next step is another Semen Analysis for H and the internal scan for me, both to be done in february. We are with Dr. S who is lovely and we also met Beppi who was great too.

It's alot to take in but I'm sure I will be joining you all regularly here.

Can I ask, are you all telling your family and friends straight away? No one knows we have been trying for 18 months and undergoing all of the other tests (bloods, semen and transvaginal ultrasound) over the last 7 months and at this moment in time I think we will keep it to ourselves until it all sinks in.

Best of luck to everyone :lvs

Hi Muse

all my family and DH's know that we're TTCing, my family know we're going down the IVF route, but DH's don't (well my SIL does but that's cos we're friends, his mother/father don't know). Quite a few of my friends know about it as well. I'm not one for keeping things to myself and tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, and for me it's a comfort and a relief knowing that people know about it but won't pry or ask anything and will wait for me to update them on how it's going...

I still haven't heard back from Beppi! Will have to ring again tomorrow morning now at this stage...
