Dr Waterstone Fertility Clinic Cork

HI girls, I hope you dont mind me joining along here, I went to my doctor today as im on cd53 and no AF and she said that because we were trying more than 6 months she was going to refer us to Waterstone, I know it shouldnt be a factor but she mentioned 3k euro, I nearly passed out as I thought she would be able to prescribe something to get my AF started so I can try again next month. I have been getting peaks on cbfm and had a chemical pregnancy in december so Im a bit shocked at being referred but I guess no AF according to my doctor means that I didnt ovulate.

So im down this route now unless I get bfp while waiting for an appointment. Any help would be much appreciated girls and I hope we're all that bit closer to a bfp x :babydust: :babydust:

Sorry to hear about your long cycle.. Good to get a referral and get checked out.
Not sure that the 3K for???
Was she maybe giving you a quote for treatments re IUI or IVF maybe

Hi 2010mrs! I dont know about my name sometimes! I often dont feel very positive!

She said that the 3k could be worse case scenario she said it will start of with various test that will cost so much then if that doesnt work the next stage etc, so I think she was preparing me for the costs,

I feel its early to be sent to him but there is a 4 month wait, I came off the pill last may, had cycles of 32, 29, 29, 35, 33, pregnant with chemical pregnancy then 41 days,34 days and now 53, but i started accupuncture at the start of this cycle and have gone for at least 8 sessions I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

also got peak on monitor on cd17 and cd18 but had vomiting bug on cd 19 unless thats delayed it but I doubt it as its so long now, feels strange just waiting and hoping ill get it!

Little did I ever think Id be going down this road but sure what can you do only hope for the best and whats for us wont pass us

Hi Mrs P, I was just curious if you had any bloods done at the GP, they can do d3 and d21 bloods, in fact the clinic will prob request you get them done before your appointment date so that the doctor has as much info as poss. You can always just go to the consultation, see what he recommends and go from there. No offence but if you are of a certain age, that could have a bearing on the GP sending you so soon as well. I would have thought the acu would help your cycles, not lengthen them out. I presume you have spoken to your acu about this? Best of luck :babydust:

hey ivy, thanks for replying, I just turned 36 in january, I did say to her, so you cant do anything? and she said well we can do your 3 and 21 day bloods here and get you results of that (when or if my AF arrives) so at least that and i suppose what shes saying is that I could be pregnant within the 4 month waiting time I dont ever want to let money come between me having a child but I would just love to get AF moving.

I attended one accupuncturist who was a totally useless and was a money hungry bunny the guy im with now is a dote really caring and trying to get my stress levels down and get me in a better place and I feel hes doing that alright..

It never entered my head that we were having 'problems' as such especially after the chemical pregnancy I was confident that we could at least conceive,.... hmmmmmmmm I dont know please God things might happen now that they're working on a referral letter and I know something is happening, I kind of feel if bloods come back ok we should give it another go but i dont want to waste too much time either if you understand... God this is tricky business!

Well I think you should carry on as you are with the acu and hope that AF shows up and also get your bloods done. You never know, you might get lucky before the appointment arrives :babydust: . Then once you get closer to the appointment date, you will know whether you need it or not, you can always cancel. The other thing I would say is, my own experience of GP's and TTC isn't the best, I don't think their knowledge is detailed enough so maybe you are better off having the option of seeing the expert. yes over the last few visits Ive found my gp contadicting herself of things shes said to do with ttc maybe she needs to go back to college!
