Hope this inspires; low AMH 1.7 and natural bfp

Hope this inspires; low AMH 1.7 and natural bfp

Postby Lizzie02 » Mon Apr 30, 2022 8:03 pm

As the title suggests, I was diagnosed in February (with Sims) as having a low AMH of 1.7, low antral follicle count, positive for anti-nuclear antibodies and was recommended IVF (skipping IUI). To say we were devastated was an understatement.

We have been ttc since August 2009. We had a miscarriage in May 2010 and another in May 2011. After my first miscarriage I had acupuncture which I totally credit my second bfp for. We were referred to the MFC and they diagnosed a low antral follicle count but we weren't totally happy with them as a clinic.

I tried 4 months of clomid/cyclogest to no avail. We self-referred to Sims in January 2012 and were given a range of reproductive immunology testing and AMH which came up with an AMH of 1.7 and positive for anti-nuclear antibodies. I was given the prescription for the pill to start taking on Day 1 of my next cycle to prepare for IVF. Lo and behold, Day 1 never came and I got the 2 lines on a FR test! I rang Sims straight away and have been on prednisolone, aspirin, clexane, cyclogest, folic acid and Vitamin B Complex since 4 weeks pregnant thereabouts.

I had my 12 week scan today and all is perfect and I can start weaning off the meds (which i am TERRIFIED about).

I would hope that this post gives some inspiration to people who are at the end of their tether and been diagnosed with low AMH. It has taken us 2.5 years, lots of heartache and two miscarriages to get here today. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be writing a post like this.

xx

Oh Lizzie - I commented on your thread over in TTC but was wondering why there were so few comments - and why nobody was jumping around in excitement for you like I was.
Should have guessed there'd be a thread here too.

Really really am OVER THE MOON for you. Have been thinking about you all week.
