ICSI & DS Costs

ICSI & DS Costs

Postby LFA » Thu May 10, 2022 6:19 pm

Hi girls

I used to be a bride on this site many moons ago but have since changed my username for ttc reasons.

My DH and I currently live abroad and may potentially move back to Ireland in the near future. As I have been out of Ireland for quite a while I have no idea of fertility costs in Ireland.

My DH and I are presently undergoing testing for MFI and potential PCOS. We may have to move country due to work and I am just trying to understand the costs for the worse case senario in Ireland so I can compare it to the country where I live now.

Would I be right in saying that the most expensive option for us would be ICSI with DS? Now I know costs will vary with different clinics but would you have any idea what a ballpark all in figure for something like this would cost?

I assume VHI etc does not cover any costs for ICSI/DS in our circumstance?

I assume also the only way of reimbursing any costs would be through submission of medical expenses on your tax return?

Thanks in advance for your help :wv

jewellb thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it.

So all in with medication and everything you would be talking about 7,500. Thanks for letting me know where they do these treatments in Ireland. I wouldn't even have known where to start looking. I will check out their websites.

Do you know if there are very long wait periods in these clinics or do you have any idea how long it takes for ICSI? Sorry I am so new to this I'm not sure how all this works yet....

Thanks so much

(BTW I love the quote on your signature. It's too true!)

Hi LFA,

I am attending Cork Fertility Clinic & we are paying €3750 for ivf & icsi is € 4250. Initial consultation is €200 & your dh will have to get a semen analysis done which is €150.

I was waiting about 4 weeks for a consultation & in this time we both had to get bloods done. Once you have your consultation & a treatment plan is made out you can pretty much start straight away.

no probs hun, i have time to kill on the 2ww!!!! :o0

with sims you can go on their web site and fill in the on-line form and e-mail it off to them, the will ring you the next day with a choice of app for diff docs, i was giben an app for 5 weeks time but you can also get a cancellation so be sure to say if you want one, and it can come up very quick. dr walshe is the head honcho there, i was with dr omar but he just finished and was very nice, there is also a dr lyuda, again very nice and a dr bart, usually when you send in your application, they will match you to who they think suits your needs most, also you can self refer, which is such a bonus!!!
as for the beacon they have been taking referals since feb, and are starting seeing people from july. there is a dr fishal thats been on tv here a lot talking about the new clinic. so it will be interesting to see what the feed back is when some girls on here start going.
hope this info helps. :lvs :lvs

Slanket/Jewellb

Thanks so much. It is just great to get both your replies and get an idea of what is before us. I actually think by the sounds of it that it might be cheaper in Ireland which is good and at least the wait times don't seem too long.

All the clinics sound good anyway for both Cork and Dublin so that is great. It will be really interesting to hear the reports for the new clinic alright.

It's strange that when we first got our diagnosis I was so down about it but now with all the various appointments coming up and the potential 'for a plan' I am starting to get more hopeful and dare I say 'excited' about getting on with things.

We are still waiting to get some results for my DH and for our urologist appointment but thankfully once we have been through these appointments we should have a better idea where we go from here.

jewellb and slanket I wish you both all the best with your journeys and truly wish you both every sucess.....

jewellb gosh you must be up the walls on the tww.....I can only imagine that every day is dragging for you right now waiting to hear good news......lots of :babydust: :babydust: for you!
