We went along last night- Sounded really good- They had a lot of really modern stuff ie songs in the charts in the last six months and also had the usual wedding numbers

I thought they were brilliant!

Really good at changing new songs to suit their sound very impressed.

Only prob with it was sound in room wasn't great, knew that before we got there from college days (!!) I did media in college so am bit more obsessive about sound than the average, outside the room sound was far better tbh we've decided to go and see them in Trim Castle on Sunday before booking them, just to be sure to be sure :wv

I was really impressed overall though. Young guy on guitar has a brilliant voice few more drinks think we all would have been up dancing. Will update after Sunday on final decision!

Hiya again!

So we went to see them again in Trim Castle today love love loved them they were brilliant had 2 lil girls up dancing were brilliant interacting with them have a few kids coming so that sealed the deal for us deposit paid another tick of the list! Would def recommend them have been emailing Ruth last few days shes been really helpful with answering my qs very quickly O-O

We saw them yesterday and we both thought they were great. Female singer is definitely not screechy at all. She has a lovely tone to her voice and I would usually be more of a fan of male singers in bands like these. We watched them for a few songs and they play a good mix. Liked that they play a lot of new music but they also play the old reliables too. We chatted to them and were very nice saying if we had any special requests for songs they will learn them no problem. And if there are any songs we dont want played just to let them know that too. Delighted now we booked them I think they will be fab on the day.

A big thanks to all who made it to Swords last time, and to Trim last week as well. Just to let you know that we are doing our next showcase this coming Saturday in the Slaughtered Lamb, Swords, at 9 30 pm. Anyone thinking of coming along, you are more than welcome.

Anyone know if Blacktye do waltz/jive type music for the oldies as well as the new stuff? Most of the tracks on their setlist on their website is more modern - which I love but got to think of the older crowd at the wedding too.

we had blacktye at our wedding last week and genuially brilliant i was worried like most about suiting everyone at the wedding but they did really great band was delighted with our choice. emailed ruth so many times with a dj list changing our mind on our first dance etc etc very lovely woman and always quick to reply i would definately reccommend this wedding band. completely relax if you have booked them.
