YES flowers GALWAY

Hi there,

Anyone use this crowd in galway city. They look professinoal but know very little about them!

All advice would be appreciated.

Sorry CelticKitten I haven't but we are using Flower Power in Craughwell and I have to say they have been very professional.

I only emailed them for a quote with a photo and got a quote emailed back to me after a discussion on flowers etc, Maureen totally got the look thatI was trying to go for etc and their price was very reasonable.

Good to get comparisons anyway, just in case!

YES flowers

I TRIED to use Yes flowers in Galway... I spoke to them on the phone and really liked their ideas, but I called them 3 times asking them to send me their price list and they never did. I thought the lack of attention to customer service was a bad sign. If they couldn't take the time to mail a price list, I couldn't imagine them putting much effort into our wedding.

I ended up calling our church (Ballintubber Abbey) and using the woman they use to do their flower arrangments. She has been FANTASTIC so far - always sending me pictures of ideas and really putting a lot of thought into our wedding even though it's still 4 months away! Plus she was several 100euro cheaper than the pros.

I also thought Branches flowers in Galway were very attentive and good about sending information out promptly. But YES flowers had more creative ideas..

That's my $0.02! Hope it helps!

Hiya,

I am using Yes Flowers. I actually went in to the shop when they were having their wedding fair last year and thought that they were great. I put down a deposit there and then. I am actually heading in there this Saturday morning to confirm all the arrangements.

Will let you know how I get on.

Hi girls
There was a thread recently on Yes Flowers and unfortuntely there was'nt any positive feedback about this florist. Apparently they are very unreliable and quite rude and unprofessional. I think their customer service was criticised too. But, every story has two sides and maybe others have had good experiences in dealing with them .Good luck with the flower planning

Meant to say, I am getting Shirley in Branch Florists, Tuam Road to do my flowers. She is excellent, so professional, fabulous to deal with and really knows her stuff.I have seen her work at wedding fairs and my Mum has done numerous flower arranging classes with her and can't stop praising her!

No problem BetsyMay. I love flowers and I have to say my Mum would'nt give me bad advice on picking a florist as she has a great interest in flower arranging. I would'nt put that extra pressure on my Mum by asking her to do my flowers for the day, so I trust her completely when she recommended Branch Florists. I paid 100 euro deposit to secure my booking with her and she will work with whatever budget you have in mind. Let me know how you get on with her!

Branch Flowers were recommended by our venue as well so it looks like they might be a winner! I haven't heard anything very positive about Yes so far.

I'll give Shirley a call and let you know what happens.

I'm sorry I can't give you any feedback on Yes Flowers, which is your original question, but I can give you feedback on other florists I've some experience of in Galway city.

My DH's mum works with flowers so we didn't approach anyone to do our wedding flowers. However, I got a beautiful bouquet for the Mother of the groom present from Flowers by Kay, based in Corbettcourt (ground floor, a kiosk). She did an amazing job, she was lovely to deal with, very professional, and even my MIL, a flower pro, was highly impressed with the arrangement and the flower selection. AND she wasn't that dear either....

Alternatively, I also approached Bill Maddens about buying a few fresh fresia for my hair on the morning of the wedding, and they wre also lovely, prefessional, not too pricey - great! While I was waiting I saw them putting together an arrangement for another wedding, and it was gorgeous. If Yes Flowers aren't looking too good, you could maybe try ringing these guys to give you a price?

Thanks for the info Architec.

I went to see Branch flowers yesterday and John was very helpful. I don't have a quote yet but they seem very flexible and experienced plus they have imagination.

So far so good! I gave them a deposit to hold the date and we are going to go back next summer to do some mock-ups of the table arrangements.
