Hi all,
My fiance has an american birthcert, hes lived in Ireland sinc he was eight. We went to register the marriage today and were told he needs to get an apostielle stamp on his birthcert. The lady in the registration office told us the US embassy is where we get one but their extremely hard to get through to and theres a load of extension numbers so just wondering if anyone knows a direct number :) :)

Its a bit more complicated than that. If you do a search on boards all the info is up there. Don't bother contacting the embassy. We have to start this process now and it seems my OH has to send his birth cert off to a few different places in the states. When we had our appointment to register our intent they told us to contact the embassy too but I don't think they are involved

Hi,
I am about to start this process so would be very grateful if you could advise on how to go about getting the apostile seal on the birthcert. Our priest also said that he will need a babtismal cert. Did you need this? Can you advise what documentaion you needed for the register and does the priest require any more documentation. Do you know also if priest requires certain documents when hubby to be is from a different parish. Sorry for all the questions!!
Any advise on this would be great.
