Hi Polly2011 and Rose Dawson, thanks so much for your kind replies.

Since my last post, things have improved dramatically. I'm not religious but I was praying so hard for her to soften and last Friday it just happened! I don't know how really. I decided to give it one last go and strike up a conversation with her about something funny that I was working on and it just happened from there. I was really worried that when we got back in on Tuesday that she would revert back to being frosty but so far so good it's working out fine. I'm just treading carefully yet being myself. Fingers crossed this could work. I feel like the weight on my shoulders has lifted so that I can concentrate on other more important things in my life. Of course I'll always be on my guard as I don't know if she'll turn nasty again but I feel stronger for having gotten through this.
