when you get your car back pack all the clothes you dont want into a bag and bring to clearout.ie they give you money for them not much but might be a nice top or something and cheer up because truly we are all in the one boat. just had the clutch go in the stupid car cost me a nice 540 and a days annual leave. dont even get me started on petrol.... lets just say if i could cycle to work id have that car thrown into a wheelie bin :o0

100% agree on the clearout - I did it a while back and it was liberating. Haven't replaced anything yet though :-8

And only final thing
hate everything abuot our house & neighbours (got middle finger from ape next door 1st thing this morning when i opened back door)

this made me smile - sorry I know it's horrible for you but I just had images of your neighbour

Been there pet, I live in the middle of nowhere too & I don't drive - sometimes it's like a never-ending circle of housework, seeing nobody, depression, "Mammy" every two seconds, cleaning, sh!te clothes, no motivation - drink definitely isn't the answer!

When you get rid of the car, get the child into the buggy and go for a walk. Clear your head. Then do have a good clearout of all your clothes - even if you're only left with a pair of jeans and a top by the end of it, do it. If you've got any old baby stuff or other stuff to sell, pop it up on donedeal.ie or adverts.ie and make another few quid that way.

Do something nice for yourself too, even if it's just getting a bag of popcorn & a DVD for yourself on Saturday night. Don't worry about your eyebrows, I'm sure they're not going to spiral out of control for another few days :) xx

i agree with candlequeen, spend the time when you have no car and DH working to do a big clearout, it can be very liberating! Then get yourself a little treat (wine, chocolates or whatever) for when you kiddie is in bed and DH is working and relax with a major chick flick! I know I'd be going mad at €800 on the car but try make the most of not 'having' to drive anywhere this weekend

Don't say your husband "deserves better" ~ he has (I'm sure) a wonderful wife and beautiful child! You are being quite hard on yourself ~ as another poster said embrace the fact that you don't have to go anywhere! I brought clothes to clearout also, feels great to get rid of old stuff and I bought a new top!
