Best (non cash) wedding presents received

Best (non cash) wedding presents received

Postby yapyapyap » Thu Apr 14, 2022 1:10 am

To follow on from the hilarious worst present thread (ie one pillow case etc ha ha ) I am wondering what presents people really loved? besides cash of course (its a given that its liked!).

I have lots of friends getting married soon and am looking for inspiration! :)

My friend gives a signature gift to all weddings she attends! A hamper with wine glasses, nice wine, some goodies and a night/two in a fancy hotel! its a lovely idea and nice to have a romantic weekend away a few months after the wedding!

My best friend got a calender made - each month has a photo from our wedding and a funny caption - we love it and everyone that sees it in our kitchen comments on it. We have a second calender up that we can write on as didnt want to write on that one as will keep it forever.

The calendar idea is so thoughtful, what a lovely pressie.
We got some lovely pressies but my faves were vouchers for weeneds, trips away. We got 3 in total and some even with dinner included which went down a treat. We booked one for a month after the honeymoon or so to have something to look forward to. I' normally give cash myself but this is a nice alternative I think.

We got a beautiful painting from my parents friends. We are really fussy about art, so we sort of held our breath opening it. It's fabulous though. Really thoughtful of them.

Not something I've received myself as you'll see from my ticker that I'm not actually married yet!

But presents I've given when I've been bridesmaid are a good barbecue (to two girls) and a set of Denby with 8 of each item.

Know the girls were all sper delighted with these presents.

Think it's nice as BM to give an actual present that they'll have for a long time, or else something that they can use like a weekend away and remember for a long time.

HTH!

I gave friends of mine who were from England and lived in Cork for 2years a personalised monopoly board, with all their favourite places/restaurants/bars/shops on the board. They loved it and it was fun to make and its a lovely reminder of their time in Ireland. https://www.mymonopoly.com/

We got loads of lovely things that we wanted (we had gift lists) but our absolute FAVOURITE surprise present was a voucher for a weekend in the hotel that we got married in so that we could go back and "re-live all our happy memories without any stress of the wedding" :lvs :lvs :lvs :lvs

we got a voucher for a travel agent from two of my parents friends. we had to use it within a year, so decided to go to london for two nights as our last getaway before babs arrives, ended up costing us money in the end but we wouldnt have gone if we didnt have the voucher and we really needed the break!

only thing that was lacking was not being able to drink :hic ah well :o0

My aunt from NY gave us a fabulous cake server set - the knife and the slice-lifter thingie (offical name - I swear! ;o) ) with "Mr & Mrs" on both handles. It was Kate Spade I think... love it to pieces... :lvs
