Did you cry??

Re: Did you cry??

Oh my God, this was one of my biggest fears! I am a total sap. I cry at EVERYTHING! And the weeks running up to the wedding I was particularly emotional. Tears would well up over anything! Watching don't tell the bride totally sent me over the edge.

But I was determined that I would not cry at any point on the day and I didn't cry once. When a groomsman called into the house with a present from my H2B on the morning I didn't cry, when my bridesmaids got emotional, I didn't cry, when I walked up the aisle I was the calmest I have ever been and had to pull on my dad's arm to make him slow down so I could enjoy the moment and I beamed as I walked towards the altar. The bit where you both say a prayer together was a close one and the speeches too but that was it. I literally could not stop smiling the whole rest of the day.

So it is very possible to be a weepy sap and hold it together on the day! :weep :)

By the way I may have had a little bit of rescue remedy and a couple of glasses of champagne the morning of...I highly recommend it!

Great to hear all these girls, I'm a total sap for weddings too - always cry when the bride walks down the aisle with her dad. (Mind you my dad passed away when I was young so that could be why there!) That's the part I'm dreading most to be honest, think it'll be really hard!!! But I'm totally not a pretty crier so hopefully I'll manage to keep them in :compress

Might try the rescue remedy though... def plan to have a glass or two of champagne! :yelrotflmaosmilie:

I only did during my speech! But I always get emotional when I'm speaking like that in front of people. I didn't care though - what's more heart-warming than a tearful bride giving an emotional speech :-8

I cried just before walking up the aisle. By the time I was walking up I was grinning like a loon.

Then I cried at my friend's reading (it was particularly beautiful, sure I chose it!). I cried a little saying my vows but I smiled all the way through the ceremony apart from those bits.

In fairness, they were pretty tears, no snivelling mess for me that day (I'm a snivelling mess these days alright)

Don't worry about crying on your wedding day, I worried but honestly I was a lot better than I thought I would be.
