When I said 'Lipo' I'm talking about Liposuction i.e. This approach is about as healthy and longterm as Liposuction !!!!!!!!!!!

Graceface I'm not saying the diet has unhealthy foods... just that you won't sustain eating very small amounts of calories longerm (Unless of course you're 'Posh'!)


OH yeah, I know, I can totally see that. But you're only supposed to follow it for a week - and I wouldn't see it as ahealthy way to achieve long-term weight loss either, of course, but I do think that sometimes you can be encouraged in your healthy-eating in the long term if you begin to see results, so I think this diet is more a means to an end rather than an end in itself. Sort of a kick-start, I suppose. I certainly wouldn't advise ANYONE to take it beyond the week...

I completely agree with Youagain. Not only will it slow your metabolism but your body will go into starvation mode and accumulate more fat than normal.

I went to a qualified dietican when I was working abroad who gave me some really good advise on losing weight and it worked, she said that if you don't eat enough unsaturated fats (good fats that we all need to live) you body will store up all types of fat and make it way harder to lose weight. :eek So she recommended that I also eat nuts and other foods that are high in unsaturated fat, not saturated fat. I was so surprised to hear this, but it really helped.

Also she said that the reason a lot of people (women especially for some reason) have sweet cravings is because they are not eating enough protein and the craving is your body crying out for protein.

Now of course I still get sweet cravings, but it's usually only every few weeks rather than 2/3 times a week. Much better

this sounds interesting, I think I may give it a go, Its only a week so its hardly that bad for you!And I only need to loose about 6 pounds so it will give me a start. Do you put much back on again does anybody know?

Would be very interested in how u get on, there is another post about a variation on the cabbage soup diet which I'm going to start Monday week (have b'day celebrations and Amsterdam first!!)
I know they're bad but I'll try it! I think if I lost it I could keep it off...,.

The thing about "quick-fix" is once you go back to normal eating, it's quickly "unfixed"! Thats what causes yo-yo dieting. Personally I think it's bad for the metabolism to do something very restrictive. Once you increase carbs again, the weight goes back on.
