Muscle ache remedies.

Muscle ache remedies.

Postby drummerswife2b » Thu Apr 19, 2022 7:37 am

I have started a intense 12 day fitness programme and a large part is strengthening using your own body weight. I'm on day 4 and really motivated but my arms are in agony. I can't fully straighten or bend them. I know this evening we will be doing a lot of plank work and I honestly don't think my arms will support me.

I bought some radox muscle relax and had a hot bath with that last night and although the rest of me feels a bit better my arms still hurt like hell. Any advice? Pretty please before I cry :o(

Honestly, it sounds like you're over doing it! The only real cure is having a rest for a day or two and then getting back into it. Try a hot bath.

I'm a big fan of the arnica massage oil - you can get it in most chemists. Worth a try!

After I have done a 10k I always have a bath in Epsom salts, totally helps. It does sound like you are overdoing it though. I find some gentle stretching and short walk also helps sort the sore muscles.

Thanks guys. I know i am probably overdoing it. But it is a 12 day programme under the supervision of a personal trainer and with amazing results. I don't want to slack on it :o( as i would feel like I was quitting. Ill talk to him this evening. To make matters worse went to weight watchers and I'm up 2.5lb :o( I know its either muscle or lactic acid but its just so pooey.

Thanks for suggestionns. I was thinking about epsom salts this morning, morning sun so must get some in and ill have a bath in that tomorrow evening. Think I have some arnica at home too but never thought of it for muscle pain (i just use it for bruises) I have started doing a few stretches too so fingers crossed im still alive in 8 days. :o0

If you have a power shower take a hot shower and target the muscles that are aching under the jets. It's especially good to do this the day of the exercise to try and prevent getting sore too. And as the other girls said, lots of stretching!

Thanks lulu126. I was doing that after each session but it wasn't really helping (although who knows what I would be like without them)

I did a few arm stretches throughout the day and I have to say I went into the session far sprightlier then yesterday. No plank today plenty of chest weight which I struggled with but overall I was very happy and I feel far better about the next 8 days. I think my body is getting used to it now. This time yesterday I was in bed crying. Now I feel like I could clean the house :o)ll Roll on weight loss.

+1 to the Epsom Salts. They saved me yesterday. I was barely able to walk and today I feel a million time better.
