weight loss or toning?

weight loss or toning?

Postby drummerswife2b » Wed Apr 25, 2022 10:24 am

As some of you might know (i havent stopped talking about it :o0 ) I am on an intensive 12 day training programme. I am overweight with a large body fat percentage. When I started this programme he said I could lose a stone in the week and dramatically reduce my body fat. Im on day 10 today and Im not seeing any weight loss :o( but I have definitely toned up and feel much fitter and healthier. My h2b said my arms werent as jiggly as they used to be.

I know gettting rid of fat is better in the long run but I wanna get the numbers down. No good being really toned but a ten tonne tessie. In the first week I weighed in at my ww meeting and had gained weight I put it down to muscle and lactic acid etc. I think since then Ive lost 3lbs (a work weight competition) but even at that Im bigger then when I started.

I dunno what my question is just want to vent I think.

I know it's really difficult but I think it's definitely more important to go by inches lost and how you look and feel rather than the numbers on the scales. Did you get measurements of waist, thighs, arms etc before you started this programme? Just remember if you're toning up it means that your body fat percentage is going down. Well done for the progress you're making.

I'm a dancer and I'm heavier than I ever was before I started dancing all because of the muscle I've built up in my legs so I find it very depressing to stand on the scales but then my clothes fit better than before and I think I look better so I think scales can be very deceiving.

Ye he took all my measurements and my body fat. I won't no the difference in them until sat. I'm def fitter. I flew through my gym session today which included some exercises that were tough going the first week. Unfortunately I'm not seeing the difference in my clothes. Some people have said they see it but I dunno if there being polite cos they know the work I'm doing. I suppose it's cos I'm still a big girl regardless of a stone weight loss in still big. I've 30 day shred lined up for when I finish this programme.

It's hard to ignore the scales as I'm in a few competitions for weight loss (one in work, me and my dad have a bet going and then just getting silver sevens etc in ww) but as my ww leader said once I know I'm doing everything don't give it up because the results will show eventually.
