Reception Venues close to Naas

Postby Lucy28 » Mon Feb 27, 2022 7:23 pm

Help Please!!Just wondering might anyone have any suggestions for wedding venues close to Naas? I am getting married outside Naas & am looking for a country style venue. We know about Rathsallagh - but was wondering can anyone else think of similar venues not too far from the area? O:| All suggestions appreciated :wv

Have you considered The Ardenode in Ballymore Eustace? It's only 7 miles or so from Naas. :)

Thanks mill for replies,we are really fussy!!!! Lyons is fab but room is split level-for our numbers!osprey doesn't really fit the country style venue :eek the rooms in rathsallagh don't look great for the cost for guests!the Ardenode have not answered the phone anytime we have called!!at the mo it's between borris, carton house - we are looking at dunboyne castle in few days and liked castle durrow too!! It's so hard to find a venue O:|

We live in Newbridge and ceremony and reception is in Borris. Venue for reception is Step House Hotel. It would be 45 mins drive for you from Naas.
Really pretty and the whole village has that country feel.

The step house in Borris is the place we love!!kinda worried the room might be too small for our numbers & the limited accomodation in the hotel, but I think it such a lovely place....congrats on booking it, no doubt you will have an amazing day there :o)ll What are your numbers like?

Hi Lucy28, it's a fab hotel isn't it? No one seems to know it either so I think we both love that none of our guests will have been there before. The ceremony is in the Parish church too and the priest is so nice.
Our numbers will be c140 inviting and maybe ending up with c 120 on the day.....totally estimating of course. What about you?
The room is "quite" big but I like that our numbers are slightly smaller as we want to have the fire lit in the function room so don't want a table in front of i!
We have checked out the local accommodation and there is loads for our numbers and more and none of it much further then a couple of mins drive. I think these days people are more used to not staying on site too with the emergence of all the exclusive venues etc. The hotel and houses sleep 61 people I think, then you have Borris cottages across the road and lots of local B&B's. Also something that is not mentioned on their accommodation list is that there are lots of self catering cottages and holiday homes around too. I found them on Trip Advisor!
Thanks! There is a Step House thread if you want more info!

Thanks MLeFleuffe, all the tips greatly appreciated! We are having 140 so far hoping thats the very max amount!!! Great news about accomodation, I checked up on tripadvisor about it few days ago & gets glowing reviews, will check out the thread! We are going to go to the Step House to see the room set up for those numbers & cant wait to see what it looks like, I love the decor & like you that the Hotel is pretty unknown! :) :)
Happily ever after, thanks so much, we keep ringing the Ardenode but cannot get a reply from them, so was wondering maybe they have shut down......
Tulfarris is lovely & in a lovely spot, would be handy for where we are getting married but I dont like the way the bar is outside the room!!!!
We are incredibly fussy......as you may have guessed he he :eek :eek

I'd say you are good to go so. The room holds 180 people but I think 100-140 is ideal for it. Gives you the space in front of the bar free then.
Have a look at photopraher Kevin Morris (we booked him) on his site he has a Step House wedding and also there is a wedding in the Real Weddings section on this site that shows the venue. Also this link shows it too. http://www.lamberdebie.ie/weddings/view ... -co-carlow
It's the hotel and parish church.

We had Tulfarris 2nd on our list too, bar put us off! ;) Best of luck with your decision.

In relation to the bar at Tulfarris I hadn't even noticed it and my friends wedding but I can see where you are coming from. Thinking about it now though, it made no difference the staff opened up the double doors and everybody was still up dancing all night. It was lovely when we arrived too everybody was in the same place and it was very private as it was only the wedding guests etc there is the courtyard and porch too...
