GMT v UK Time Question

GMT v UK Time Question

I have been asked to log onto a webcast this afternoon. The times given are 3 PM GMT / 4 PM UK. Is the difference the Daylight Saving hour? Should I also be logging on at 4 PM??

Never heard the like, I thought GMT was the be all and end all of UK time? :)

The difference is Daylight Saving. We are currently in Summer Time which is GMT+1 so you should be logging on at 4pm.

Ah, I would have thought that whatever GMT is that would have daylight saving time built into it. Learn something new everyday :innocent:

GMT is fixed and immutable, it doesn't change for daylight savings - in the summer, we are officially on "BST", British Summer Time, which is GMT + 1.

This one always confuses me. My online diary has been rescheduling appointments for me since the clocks changed cos I think I accidentally clicked/unclicked something on my laptop to stop it auto updating the time, but the online calendar is updated, and I'm completely confused, not to mention late, all the time! :-8 Must get IT support/DH on the case!
