How do I lose my back fat?

Tried on my dress yesterday. In general, I'm delighted with it. Have lost twentysomething pounds since I ordered it so it'll have to be taken in everywhere which is all good really.
Problem is, it's a boob tube dress and I have back cleavage in it. From the front I'm quite happy but not the back!
So - what exercises can I do to target the back area?
I go to the gym but what I do there is the cross trainer, not too much else. Might swimming help? Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Talk to a trainer the gym but you should be working with some weights for toning. Things like the lat pull down machine, one arm rows, flys, push ups.

I agree with the weight training. Cardio is great for fitness but weights are the way to go to tone up and look good. What about trying something like the 30 day shred?

Im exactly the same as you hate the back fat hanging over my dress.
Definitely start with the weights in the gym, ask one of the trainers to show you. there's a good few machines in my gym for your back. Theres a rower machine but its static and you are just pulling weights that's good for your bra strap fat. Also sit ups for your back, if you lie on your front and raise your body up till you feel the pinch then slowly back down for 3.
there should be a machine where you sit down and pull the bar down towards you, that one is really good for the top of your back.

+1 on the weights.. if you like they can also show you free weights which are great too. I was using the machines and then went on to the free weights and a kettlebell thinggy which I have found mighty for the back

Boxercise.... It is BRILLIANT for toning upper body.

I have been doing it about a month now and all back fat is gone (not gone from anywhere below my waist :o(

) but it's a great upper body workout.

I would suggest more cardio than toning. If its back fat then its cardio/fat burning you need. toning wont do you any good because you cant see muscle/toning if there is fat on top of it.

I would suggest jogging, cycling, stair master. Usually when you loose fat you lose it overall and not off one area.

Well done on losing over 20lbs, thats brilliant!! I'm similar to you in terms of wanting to shift the back cleavage. Have you been trying any since that you can recommend?? I go to the gym as well but just do cardio and some arm weights, I've no idea on how to work the back. Thanks :xox

Hi Ladies,

Best back exercise in the gym is the "pull up" bar. Most gyms have a machine called a "gravitron" that allows you to easily pull your bodyweight up over the chin up bar. Its well worth the effort.

Google the following for back work also : Lat pull down, dumbell pullover, dumbell row and low pulley row.

that will do the trick.
