The Flu!

The Flu!

Postby Luka » Thu May 03, 2022 11:17 pm

Just need to rant. Everyone gets the flu, I know. However this is my first time getting flu since my DS was born last May, & I can't believe how much harder it is being sick! :eek Of course before I could stay in bed & get better, but today my temp was 101 :weep & could barely lift my DS. My Parents have taken him for the night, it's only his second time staying with them overnight, first time he was 10 weeks & it was for a wedding we went to. Mam said he's fine, but I feel guilty & can't believe how badly I'm dealing with the flu...I never thought it was possible to have a pain in my face! My eye scokets hurt. & I can feel ALL of my upper teeth.... UUGGHHH :action34

I feel for you, I honestly do.
I wouldnt feel guilty its just for one night, and your going to need every single minutes rest of it, so enjoy it while you can
Wrap up in lots of blankets even if your boiling, drink honey and lemon in hot water (or in green tea) it really helps. And loads of TLC :)
I had a bad dose last month and it took me a good 2 weeks to shift it, and I have no kids so can only imagine you poor thing you must be wreaked.
get well soon :action31

I wouldn't let Ds brush his teeth the other night and barely let him into the loo before going to bed.The reason: I had a stomach bug and was going to the loo every 5 minutes for 6 hours.

Sometimes you do what you can to survive.

Clearly I am still bitter at my stomach. The b@stard.

THanks for the replies Claddagh & SNuffy
:thnk

Feeling a bit better today, my temp was still 101 at 1 am this morning, when I woke at 3am absolutely saturated! Like someone had thrown a bucket of water over me! Temp was on the way down then, so it seems when I broke a sweat, that got the temp down. Luckily I haven't been sick throwing up etc, Snuffy that sounds like a bad dose alright!

Flu is awful - people who've never had it often call a bad cold 'the flu', but once you've had a proper flu you never forget. Don't feel guilty at all, there's nothing you can do except rest and drink lots. Your parents are probably loving the chance to have your little one all to themselves for a bit.
