Help with low carb diet plan

Re: Help with low carb diet plan

To be honest im not keeping track of the carb grams, trainer kind of tells me what to eat so i just go with what he says. The only carbs im really having are the carbs in fruit and veg. He said to eat loads of green veg and to stay clear of fruit with think skin so only to eat berries , pears and apples.
I had some brown bread at lunch im very bold, but i wont have any potatos/rice/pasta with dinner. I feel so bad after eating it you would swear i went out and had a mcdonalds or something!
I have all my big stuff sorted just doing those little crappy bits at the moment too, im writing the invites and doing up the mass booklets. Ive been picking up all the little bits for bridesmaids and groomsmen. Dam little bits cost so much :eek

i feel like someone is out to test me, this is my first proper week with no carbs and last night was date night and H2B and i took a wee tip to the coast and he had fish and chips, i was starved so had fish but picked all the batter off and just ate the plain fish :o( i would have murdered a chip but i knew if i even had one i was a goner - so i just licked one :o0

Even worse is theres a new company taken over our canteen in work and they have loaded the place with tray bakes, big desserts and everyone had scones or sausage rolls for breakfast, i felt so miserable watching them eat it and if thats not bad enough theres a cake sale this afternoon for charity - i feel like i have died and gone to diet hell >:o)

Your right tho carried away just keep focusing on end goal, after only doing this properly for 4 days already my stomach is much flatter and less bloated. H2B is on his stag this weekend so i'm having the girls round on sat for drinks and nibbles (dunno how i'm gonna work that one with the diet) and its SIL to be hen party next wknd so i'm hoping to have lost a few pounds and steamlined myself a bit before then - i'm fulling intending on the diet being blown that weekend but needs must and its a one off :compress

:o0 :o0 :o0 :o0 :o0 :o0 :o0 :o0 :o0 psml cant believe you licked the chip that is exactly the point i am at :o0
I think I might have one treat meal this weekend, Im going for drinks on saturday night with friends so ill be all hungover on sunday so I think I will just give myself one treat!! Im working out with personal trainer tomorrow and I will work out saturday too, Seriously the thoughts of eating just one nice thing is getting me through this week, another p0xy turkey salad today for lunch :o0
:eek :eek you need to be strong to get through that bake sale, I have to say that would tip me over the edge today with the way im feeling :o0
For nibbles you could maybe make some carrot/pepper/celery battons and make your own dips like humous, guacamole and salsa. Throw out some nachos for the girls and make them feel bad by eating the carrott sticks :) get yourself some 80% or higher dark chocolate aswell and have about 2 squares >:o) If you are making hot food you could maybe make your own sweet potato fries and put spices on them and make spicy wedges for the other girls.
god my mouth is watering now thinking of food :o0

Hi ladies. I'm not part of this thread but just keep a little eye on it to get any ides from you! :o0

I'm not following any specific low carb plan or anything but have cut back a lot on them ie. rarely eat bread, white pasta or white rice any more. I try to be quite good Monday - Friday and then treat Sat and Sunday and it works for me.

Just a little thing on the treat meal Carriedaway - my Personal Trainer has told me it's fine to have a treat meal like this once a week and I've read up on it a bit online too. Apparently it helps to boost back up levels of ghrelin, the hunger hormone... here's a little piece on it:

Setting aside a day to have a cheat meal will help you get there. Not only is a cheat day psychologically satisfying, but it also causes many changes in the body that are helpful to your metabolism. Cheat meals “reset” hunger hormones like leptin and ghrelin, and boost your metabolism for the week ahead. Cheat meals replenish glycogen stores so that you’re ready for the week’s workouts, and they keep the starvation mechanisms at bay – in effect resetting (boosting) your metabolism.

Now obviously I amen't qualified on all that sciency stuff but I couldn't cope with healthy eating all week without a treat at the end of it so I always have treats over the weekend and it hasn't hindered me at all - so in short... I'd say have your treat meal and don't worry about it!

ooooohhhhh carried away those suggestions sound great! will definitely get making some dips and i just realised i can have blue cheese dip guilt free :o)ll I've been googling away all day trying to find 'alternatives' to my fav foods. Apparently there is a thing called 'cauli rice' which is basically grated, steamed cauliflower and it is supposed to resemble and taste similar to rice so you can have it with low carb home made curry or as a fake paella.

When H2B is on his stag tomorrow i'm going treat myself to a nice big steak to cure the loneliness and worries about what trouble the lads are in :o0 obviously i'll be missing the chips but i found suggestion online of using green beans tossing them in olive oil and salt and roasting them in the oven for about an hour until crispy, gets great reviews as a chip substitute and low in carbs :compress

The cake sale was awful but i was prepared and brought some greek yogurt and berries with me which i devoured, actually really look forward to my wee afternoon snack :lvs

I'm gonna struggle with the alcohol at the weekend...its my downfall (well one of them :o( )

Had a session with trainer today I had to tell him about the chip licking incident :) he thought it was hilarious he said he had a client whose Achilles heel was chocolate and he used to make his girlfriend eat some chocolate and then kiss im so he could taste it! Ha
I asked him about cravings as I was really bad this week he said u need to eat more fat so more nuts and avocados which I don't mind. I'll blend the avacado with onion garlic chillies and lime juice and make guacamole to eat with salad.

Trainer was real mean tonight I'm going to be so sore tomorrow. We did loads of interval training sprints on tread mill for one min then walk for min and repeated 5 times. Loads of weights for arms and back then inbetween different sets I was doing intervals in the bike 20 seconds slow 20 seconds fast repeated 3 times then back to the weights I felt like crying.

Anyhow Enjoy yr weekend and ur drinks Im sure you'll forget all about the diet after a few drinkies , that's my plan for tomorrow.

Oh God girls I've totally gone off the bandwagon!

Right back up on it now. Started again yesterday and had lovely soft poached eggs, bacon and mushrooms for tea. It was delish!

Have an 8k run this weekend so I'll be out every day exercising. I've not taken my weight but I can generally tell by the size of my stomach! If its bigger than my boobs then I've put on weight :yelrotflmaosmilie:

Love the chip licking incident. The chocolate kissing sound really good to me too!!

2 and half lbs off this week :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll i know it isnt a huge amount but i dont have a big amount to lose so i'm well chuffed, i have to admit standing on the scales this morning i had my doubts as ive been eating everything that your generally told not to on a diet - eggs, cheese, bacon, full fat mayo etc it sometimes feels wrong eating it when i've programmed myself over the years to avoid these things.

I have to say tho i'm getting sick of eggs for breakfast, yes they are quick and easy when i'm rushing out the door but i think i'm gonna grow tired of them. i like to keep my berries and greek yogurt as afternoon snack in work - i really look forward to it - any suggestions?

I have SIL to be hen weekend this weekend so i will most likely put those 2 and half pounds back on an fall off the wagon big time but i cant avoid it or the alcohol :yelrotflmaosmilie: i'm just putting it down as a write off. We're back sunday afternoon so hopefully it'll jst be friday and saturday of badness and i can get back on it on sunday again if i'm not totally dead!

Or Turkey sausages?

+1 on the turkey rashers, i find it easier to stomach them in the morning times. when i wake up i run down switch on the george forman and stick the turkey rashers on it, by the time im dressed they are cooked and i just throw them in tin foil and into my bag.
I didnt have any eggs last week i was so over them, i had turkey rashers every day with green tea. you could even mix it up and maybe 2 days a week have the yogurt and fruit for brekkie and eat nuts and some more fruit for your afternoon snack.

I was like a woman posessed on sat night , i got p1ssed after 2 glasses of wine :hic must be the lack of carbs, then my friend produced a big bowl of wedges and i had loads :-8
will be cursing myself when im with the trainer tonight :o(

On a low carb diet, the best thing to do is cut them out after 5pm! Eat porridge for breakfast (which is carbs), carbs for lunch like a wrap with soup and a carb free dinner!! The weight will drop off and you won't be craving carbs and going insane xx

My Trainer tells me if im trying to lose weight not to eat carbs for breakfast as your body will burn the energy fromt he carbs and not burn into the storage of body fat :o( your telling your body to burn into the fat storage from the start of the day.
Some times when im feeling rebelious i will have some branflakes with strawberries and skim milk :o0 :o0
