is pilates a good workout

Girls , is pilates a good workout? i really want to drop about 10pounds before my wedding but also want to really tone up. at the moment i had a belly full of jelly.
:o0 :o0 anyway im gonna go running in the evenings for abit of fat burning but theres a pilates class starting near me and im wondering would this be good for toning?? ive always though pilates is good for naturally slim girls(not me) who want to get some exercise but dont need to lose weight.
whats your opinion? O-O O-O

I think pilates is great for toning because it focuses a lot on your core. I took a class last summer and I found that not only is it good for toning but it also improves your posture.

Have to say I love Pilates,it makes me feel so flexible but haven't lost any weight or toned up from it.

Delighted to see you are running to burn off the 10 pounds as you won't lose any weight doing pilates. That said, its a brilliant class for toning/flexibility and your general well being.
