Peter Rowen is regarded as one of Irelands leading Photographers.
He has won numerous National and International Awards including a Gold Award in the New York based Graphis Journal of Communication ( possibly the only Irish Photographer ever to do so! ) and was announced Weddingsonline 'Wedding Photographer of the Year' in 2009.
With a background in Commercial Photography and a client list that includes Lexus, Sky TV, RTE, Eircom, VHI, Diageo & U2 he has also worked for all of Irelands best magazines including Image, Gloss, The Irish Times and The Sunday Independent.
In 2002 Peter set up 'Peter Rowen Weddings' Steering firmly away from traditional Wedding Photography he shoots in a documentary style literally capturing the details and moments of the day as they unfold before him.
'I've never been a fan of traditional Wedding Photography where everything is setup and staged so when I started shooting weddings I decided that I was going to do something different....
Rather than line people up and ask them to smile I decided to try and capture the real smiles, the real emotions and the true atmosphere of the day.
It's a really nice way to shoot a wedding...No one feels pressured to perform, the couple are free to enjoy their day and the results I hope, speak for themselves'

Peter was our first choice and, if we are honest, our only choice. Looking through Peter's portfolio we realized his relaxed style of photography was exactly what we wanted. Not just pictures, but a memory of our day from start to finish. Peter was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout the process; held our hands when we required it and was always around to give his professional advice when we needed it. On the BIG day you wouldn't even know he was there. In the house he was a calming influence on all and captured the mood brilliantly. During and after the ceremony Peter would duck and dive between the crowd catching those candid shots of people laughing and enjoying the day, and every so often setting up a little group photo with minimal fuss and interference. Everybody who came in contact with Peter on the day remarked how polite and professional both Peter and his assistant were. We did leave a huge amount in Peters hands. We discussed the style of photo we liked and left the rest of it all to Peter. Lets not forget though, this is all about results. As they say "a picture speaks a thousand words", in this case Peter's photos speak at least 10 times that - we received a good 2,000,000 words (I'll let you do the math) and all of them were spectacular. I think it's safe to say Peter delivered.

Well what can I say? I cannot recommend Pete highly enough. He has an air of calm about him. He is a person who has great warmth to him and is both professional and fun and I have to say we were all blown away by the photos. For me, I'm not one who likes to get her photos taken but he put us both at such ease and did the job without us realising he was snapping away. His pictures capture the story of the day and for us, we genuinely could not of been happier with the photos, which we will treasure forever or Pete himself. Not only is Pete an incredible photographer, but he was an absolute pleasure to work with on our wedding day. Even though we're from California and never met Pete until the day of, it only took a couple of clicks through his portfolio to know that he was the perfect photographer for us. He was prompt, fun to be around, worked well with our videographer, and did and amazing job of quietly documenting our special day from the sideline. Our pictures are so fabulous that more than one person has suggested submitting them to a wedding magazine!

We booked Peter Rowens Photography services based upon a recommendation from another photographer. We also checked Peters website and discovered that we actually knew one of his clients. Without hesitation we made contact and the recommendation we received further endorsed Peter's skills as a photographer.
Wedding photographs are the only tangible reminder of a great occasion, not just for the bride and groom but for family and friends also. Its only now that we realize and appreciate the true importance of having the right photographer. From the booking process to receiving the end product, Peter Rowen Photography was a stress free experience on the long list of wedding arrangements.
We live in the USA, and got married in Ireland and so it was on our wedding day that we actually met Peter for the first time. Straight away we felt like that we had known him for years and that he genuinely had our interests at heart. He calmly and patiently worked with us and our guests in an unobtrusive but effective manner and managed to work to our brief, despite our large group numbers, missing family members and time limitations. His creativity is evident in the relaxed shots taken of our guests and the more formal Family shots. His easy friendly personality, co-operative attitude and dedication to his trade are evident and we certainly would have no hesitation in using his services again or indeed recommending him. When we met Peter we were immediately struck by Peter's affability and professionalism. Absolutely nothing was a problem for him. We wanted our photos to have a naturalistic, spontaneous feel and we objected to a photographer corralling guests into photos they wanted no part of. Peter presented his work to us and about 30 seconds after the meeting ended, we decided he was the photographer for us. It is a testament to his abilities, that Peter was the first and only photographer we met with.
On our wedding day, Peter was first at the church. He greeted me like an old friend. He gave a run down on what he was going to do and off he went! As guests arrived, Peter mingled around the group snapping almost unnoticed. He happily accommodated the occasional auntie request for a staged photo. He worked exceptionally well with our videographer, who later told us that he loved working with Peter!
At the wedding reception venue, the bridal party gathered for some photos. We were impressed that Peter had scouted several locations of interest and if a location wasn't working for him, he very politely moved us along. The whole process took very little time because of Peter's organization.
Peter sent us a DVD of our photos very quickly after the wedding. This was an added bonus for us. We were able to e-mail photos etc. to our friends and family and we were absolutely thrilled with the standard of the photos. When we received our photo album, we also got all of our negatives. This is yet another example of how Peter works. He is a brilliant photographer and a professional, but more importantly he is a nice guy and in an industry that has more than its fair share of cowboys and egos, that puts him in a league of his own! -

We choose Peter as the photographer for our wedding last May on the recommendation of a friend. As we decided not to have a wedding video, it was especially important to us to get the photos right. From our first meeting with Peter we knew he was the right man for the job.
His informal photographic style was exactly what we were after, rather than stiff posed shots.
I am reluctant to have my photo taken at the best of times but he put me at ease immediately and the photos reflected that. By being unobtrusive he captured our personalities and those of our guests perfectly. There are a few real gems there that we will treasure forever.

Pete was recommended to us through a friend and as soon as we saw a
few of his photos we knew he was going to be perfect. Our wedding was in Italy and Pete flew over with his assistant two days before the wedding to get a look at the area and where he'd be working. He was such a calming influence on the preparations, he was so relaxed and nothing was a problem. On the day he was absolutely magnificent. He was like no other photographer we have ever seen; we didn't even know he was taking photos most of the time (exactly what we'd hoped for). The family photos only took 10 minutes and we were free to entertain our guests for the rest of the evening. Within a week of returning to Ireland we received a DVD with the best 200 shots from our wedding. We loved the look and feel of Pete�s portfolio when we met him originally. We had high hopes and we were not disappointed, Pete�s photography is like a mixed bag of creative styles, which perfectly captured all the excitement, fun and emotion of our big day. He switches from black & white to colour with an excellent eye for creativity, really capturing the personalities within our friends and family. Pete is a professional and friendly guy, who photographs everything subtly behind the scenes but also well able to �muster up the troops� for the large group shots! It was really important to us that posing for photos did not become a significant portion of the day as our priority was sharing time with our family, friends and each other, but we still didn't want to compromise on quality or quantity.
