The 19^th Century Listed Rectory Private Party and Wedding Venue in Glandore is one of Corks finest seaside exclusive venues and not surprisingly voted in the “top 3 most romantic wedding locations North and South of Ireland” by Georgina Campbell. It is a romantic & quirky local family run private party venue that is well established in the party and events scene catering to celebrations such as birthdays, club, corporate or family gathering but specialises in the area of weddings.

The Chic Boutique House Party Venue is well known for its high standards in food and friendly West Cork service veering away from the typical carvery wedding menus offering hearty restaurant style menus of top quality and taste. They offer the perfect size for numbers with the main house capable of accommodating from 45 up to 120 seated guests plus an additional 80 for the evening from March to October with an option to increase capacity to 140 where the smartly styled marquee can be used for overflow. Otherwise 100 day seated and 60 evening guests outside this time. While there are alternative party options and capacities these numbers are suited to parties such as weddings or full day events and seated meals with packages for under €5900 for 80 guests in 2012 including meal & wine which is fantastic value for money!!!

There are plenty of pretty and intimate local churches to choose from in the area and nearby localities. Experienced in hosting onsite civil, humanist and religious ceremonies there are plenty of options and locations to hold these on the Rectory grounds. While some restrictions such as indoor only ceremonies apply with HSE registrars this is the case across the land. These ceremonies can be held in the red or blue room with views over the gardens and Glandore Harbour. Alternatively and possibly the most popular option are the ceremonies on the lawn. With comments like “as close to heaven as I’ll get for now” it really is a fitting place to hold a ceremony being at one with nature under the open West Cork skies “just as they did before churches were built”.

The large bay windows of the Rectory afford excellent views over the lawn and Glandore coastline giving the impression you are eating in the garden but within the comforts of the vibrant red, green & blue dining rooms. It’s not too big and not too small.

The Rectory has been busier in the last number of year than it was in the height of the boom. In cost conscious times this affirms the Rectory to be great value for money and shows it is possible to have that dream wedding at affordable prices. With no ties to accommodation, service charge, or venue hire fees for wedding packages it’s no surprise it is so popular.

While there is movement towards unique concepts such as marquees or renting private houses and estates to allow more creative control this too has its own drawbacks such as gambling that the catering companies you hire along with the waiting staff will work well together in an environment they are not regularly in. Further to this many find they need to budget for unforeseen costs such as linen, decor and even tables and chairs. With this all catered to at the Rectory and the reassurance of an experienced team that know their venue and surrounds it’s often the preferred option.  

Short engagements of 3-6 months have certainly been the trend over the last few years in the Rectory so rest assured the team are experienced with this scenario. If you are open to dates you may find you are lucky with availability. There’s no harm to check. Nothing gained, nothing ventured as they say. You may be surprised and find this suits you better than a long engagement. With one of our own personal family members having had a short engagement of just four and a half months you’ll be glad to hear it worked a treat and got thumbs up all round.

While the personal interaction is favoured it’s equally recognised nowadays it’s not always feasible and so with the brochures, comprehensive website and of course the touch of social networking you’re bound to find the answers you need.
