Making your day special; be it the beginning of a journey or a celebration of life.

Joanne is available to sing throughout Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wicklow & beyond

Joanne McCabe has been singing as long as she can remember and is an experienced soloist. She began performing at weddings at the early age of eleven and it was then that she truly caught the singing bug! Being from a musical household Joanne has always been surrounded by talented musicians, most notably her mother Frances McCabe with whom she often performs at church services. She has been formally training for almost a decade and through this training has been tutored by many influential names. These inlcude Linda Hutchison of the British Vocal Association, Deirdre Masterson of the Irish Sopranos, successful Mezzo-Soprano Bridget Knowles, Roland Purcell of the Vienna Boys Choir, Vanessa Sadlier at the Waterford Institute of Technology and Alan Leech of the National Chamber Choir among others. Joanne is a regular concert soloist in addition to performing at church services throughout the South-East.

As a vocalist it is an honour to be a part of someone’s special day. I pride myself on enhancing the ceremony and capturing the emotion and tenderness of the mood. This is your opportunity to influence your ceremony with personal choices in order to relay your personal feelings. I am here to help you explore these feelings and to deliver them to a professional standard during your big moment! During your free consultation I will guide you through the ceremony informing you of the opportunities for musical enhancement and perform a variety of music to help you discover the pieces you believe best capture your feelings and best represent the fantastic journey you are embarking upon. I am a firm believer that when words are not enough, music speaks. I am confident that during your consultation you will see what I mean!

Below are the common spaces within a marriage ceremony where musical enhancement is appropriate

  • Bride’s Entrance
  • Lighting of two Independent Candles
  • Responsorial Psalm
  • Lighting of the Marriage Candle
  • Offertory
  • Sign of Peace
  • Communion - usually a minimum of two pieces
  • Reflection
  • Signing of the Register
  • Recessional

* The Alleluia, Lamb of God, Holy Holy etc can also be sung if desired

This structure applies to Catholic Church Ceremonies. However, Church of Ireland Services follow a similar structure which can be discussed and finalized at a consultation if you wish.

Civil Marriage Ceremony

  • Entrance Music
  • After the Opening Reading
  • After the Marriage Vows
  • After the Exchanging of the Rings (this is an optional part of the ceremony)
  • During the Lighting of the Candle (this is an optional part of the ceremony)
  • After the Marriage is formally declared/Signing of the register
  • Exit Music

*Music may also be chosen for when photographs are being taken and congratulations being offered. As the Civil Wedding Ceremony is quite short and can often be confined to a finishing time all of these opportunities may not be availed of. It is also insisted that strictly no religious content be included in any music/song/poetry or readings chosen.

In addition to the above I also offer Pre-Dinner/Champagne Reception music in your chosen venue. This is when all those beautiful love songs that could not fit into your ceremony or perhaps were not quite appropriate for the ceremony can provide a relaxing backdrop for your guests. As always I can offer advice on possible pieces. In particular the modern section of the Wedding Repertoire suggestions may be of use. This service usually spans approximately one hour duration but can be prolonged or shortened depending on your needs and timetable for this special day.
