Arthur O ‘Brien is truly professional. His passion is to deliver a uniquely individual collection. He values and respects the truth of your day, he cannot shoot what didn’t happen and he doesn’t choreograph things to happen. He is a documentary wedding photography. What he does is tell a photographic story and your day will be full of stories. Your wedding collection will represent the memories of your day. Looking through your collection your family and friends will feel like they are part of that story

I love couples who love photography and couples who want a collection which is uniquely theirs. Family and group photographs are an important part of your day; they are snap shots into your family history. My style is not to take over you, your family or your friends on your special day.

I look for details, I look at the people, I look at the environment and I capture the emotions. These emotions I put into your collection. It is your day and I will respond to the day as it happens with as little fuss as possible. I don’t control your day. My approach to your wedding is as an observer, working in the background, discreetly taking pictures that captured the very essence of your special day.

What makes me different as your wedding photographer?

I work unobtrusively in the background capturing the magic and the spontaneous emotions. I do not set up or manage your day.
Couples love the fact that they can simply enjoy the day and leave me to quietly document what happens around them rather than be directed and ordered around, turning the day into one long portrait or fashion shoot. Many photographers will tell you they shoot in a documentary style but very few actually do.

My couples receive a stunning sequence of images that tell the story of their wedding day from the early morning preparations to the first dance. We understand the need for some family group pictures and we are happy to shoot these. You can also have a small relaxed portrait session after the family photographs and these photographs are taken as much as possible in a natural way outdoors using natural light.

1.    I tell your story of your day and not the traditional version of your day. I don’t tell you how to stand, how to walk and when to smile.

2.    I am a story teller: I interpret your day, I don't just snap it.

3.    I am focused on good work, your Wedding day pictures are just the starting point, my work continues long after the pictures are shot.

4.    We work as a team; I will work for and with you until your wedding photographs are presented to you.
