  • my routine consisted of cleansing tonight and moisturising each night, using a hot clothe cleanser to ensure a deep clean, adn to keep pores unclogged. At night i used a radiance boosting rosehip oil. Avoid caffine, try to replace with herbal teas, and drink lots of hot water! Avoid alcohol for the last couple of weeks as it dehydrates skin and causes break outs.

  • Unfortunately, my skin is rarely perfectly clear and i would normally have one or two spots -obviously not a good wedding day look!I eat pretty healthily in general but my two vices are red wine and cheese so i will be really cutting down on my consumption of both over the next few months. I am also going to try to cut out the wine and all junk food for the few weeks before the wedding - that will be a challenge as i'm getting married on December 30th right after Christmas!

as well as diet, I plan on starting a monthly facial for the six months before the wedding and i will continue with my usual skin routine apart from that. I have also recently started using the Bare Minerals make up range and i cannot recommend it enough to any Wollies with skin issues - it really is fantastic - really natural and i do feel that my skin has improved since i started using it. I am also toying with the idea of the jet peel facial at Therapie - looks amazing and if its good enough for Angelina Jolie........!

  • Wouldnt it be so disappointing to look back and see nasty flaws and blemishes in your skin when you finally get your wedding photos? I think the best way to avoid this happening is to have a skin plan for preparing for the big day. For me, rule 1 is lots and lots and lots more water! Ive started to keep bottled water literally everywhere, fridge, car, desk, by the bed and even by the loo! Every time I see a bottle, I have a drink. And of course, the old reliable (but dreaded!) exercise works wonders for a healthy glow. Ive decided Im going to get out in the fresh air for a few nice walks (dont want to over exert myself of course) and Im steering clear of alcohol and fried food.
Ive included a few trips to the beautician in my wedding budget. She is going to do a full skin analysis for me and shes going to evaluate and discuss what would be best for me and what I want as I approach D day. Shes already told me that I could benefit from some micro-dermbrasion, chemical peels and regular visits for facials. The added bonus is I will get to talk to her in detail about what way I want my makeup and hair to be for the day, as well as my waxing and manicure plans.
My thinking is that you should never compromise on your beauty requirements for the big day. No matter how many times your man tells you that you are fine the way you are and he doesn't want anything fancy, every man appreciates a girl who looks good and who makes a special effort. It will be worth the hard work when he sees you looking more beautiful than ever as you approach him at the altar, simply glowing and stunning. It is a day that you have always dreamed of, so why not make it a dream come true! Wedding photos where the bride has gone to little or no effort with make-up can look drab and boring. I know money is probably tight but I think its worth the splurge to hire a professional beauty therapist to do your face, and go through a basic practice run with you on how you want to look on the day. I believe that if you look after your skin at home and follow a plan for improvement with the beauty therapist, you should have the result of looking your best on your special day. It just wont be worth looking back on your photos with pangs of regret because you didn't do anything about it at the time, and include it in part of your overall wedding plan. At the end of the day, its just as important as the caterers, the church or the dress. You will have a much better time when you are feeling confident and beautiful, so go on and treat yourself, and make an extra effort to look the best you can 

  • My beauty regime was loads of hot water with lemon. The cleansing routine was - clarins products - cleanser and toner only, and clarins moisturiser.I was lucky I dont really suffer from spots which is an added bonus.

  • I will try and not change anything too different from my normal routine, incase i disrupt my skin. Just my usual cleanse, tone & moisturise & religiously do this every night until the wedding! :) x

  • My preparation will start months before the day itself with plenty of fresh fruit and water daily, the week before I will go for a facial and leading up to the wedding I will continue my normal routine of cleansing toning and mositurising. I dont want to disrupt my skin days before the wedding.

  • I am getting married in 10 days!!

I have had a monthly facial for the last 6 months. I love Elemis products so I have tried my best to cleanse, tone, moisturise mosturise mosturise especially through winter.

Apart from the odd breakout, my skin is in amazing condition! Fingers crossed that it will be in 10 days too. I have also lost weight and stuck to the healthiest diet I've ever been on with lots of fruit and veg.Drinking water has been my problem, I just can't seem to remember it enough!

  • My skin can be a pain in the jacksie (!!) so i was worried i would have breakouts the size of wicklow mountains before my big day!

So skin has been my priority! In the lead up (i got married 2 weeks ago) i used only dermalogica products (previously i have not had a stable relationship with any particular brand), plus had a course of jetpeels (not actually a peel!) from Therapie in Dublin - the jet peels are amazing and make even the most stubborn skin glow!

I also drunk a lot of water and took specific vitamins for hair, skin & nails.

The combo of all above made such a difference, and no wicklow mountains appeared :-)

  • I'm drinking lots (and I mean lots!!) of water and trying my best to eat a healthy balanced (!) diet. I've also splashed out on some fancy skincare products and I've noticed the difference already... just wish I could afford it all the time. Getting married in July - they better last til then!!!

  • Having a baby boy, I don't get time to brush my hair, never mind being able to pamper myself with a lovely facial. I think for my wedding day, I'll take a long, well earned period, to scrub, exfoliate and lather my face with some beautiful rich products, just so I can finally get the 'glowing bride' look! It would be AMAZING!

  • Anything that will help me feel like a princess is always worth a shot!

Lots of exfoliation, moisturising and H20 before the big day is a must! And remember ladies, we just want to look like a better version of ourselves ;-)

  • I cleanse, tone, moisturise and exfoliate my skin using Dermologica stuff for about a week, then marvel how well my skin looks, but get lazy.
The next week i forget all about it and help things out by eating every sweet thing around me.
The following week i cry about how crappy my skin looks again and vow to do bette. Repeat the above cycle.
    Must get more discipline!

  • Well girls it was nearly 5 years ago but I swore by Dermalogica products before my wedding. They were recommended by a beautician for my skin & well worth the investment. I would use pre-cleanse, followed by Dermalogica Cleanser then I used the gentle cream exfoliant once a week (but be careful as over-exfoliation can trigger inflammatory response/ breakout so dont exfoliate too often). I also used the firming, emollient moisturiser which was brill & multivitamin power eye cream this stuff is fab fab fab!!!. As a body moisturizer & exfoliant I used body shop products as they are well priced & I just love body butter!! I dont alwys use dermalgica now just when I am treating myself but I have to say they are so worth it before such a special time like getting married oh Im so jealous I wish I was back there doing it all again..well maybe not again as in 2nd time round but just back in July 2006! Enjoy all you Brides2B!

  • FAB prize! love trying out new products!!

Just like abrideinkildare lots and lots of water and TRYING to be good and eat healthier (although the odd bit of chocolate does pass my lips!)

Have a regular routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising, morning and night, and have been treating myself to facials, whenever I have a bit of spare cash (which isn't very often with the big day looming!!) Been using Bare Minerals make-up so that I don't clog up my pores everyday with a heavy foundation, fingers crossed the skin will be clear come the nuptials!

  • So here's how I did it as a bride-to-be!

Cleansed with Vichy Purete Thermale cream cleanser, morning and evening.

Took off eye make up with Vichy Purete Thermale soothing eye-make up remover.

    Toned with plain old-fashioned water!

Used Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Rejuvenating Face Serum followed by Number 7 Protect and Perfect day moisturiser.

I also had a Simple facial foaming wash for the shower a couple of times a week for a really good scrub.

That's about it. Would love to win this, the products look gorgeous! Would love the 24 hour moisturiser, that sounds great.
