Hi Everyone!!!!

Looking at HP for our big day as it has special meaning for us. However We've not paid any money yet - how have people done for discounts here? Any successful haggling done before / after paying the deposit?

We love the place but it will be a major stretch for us plus some of our guests will struggle to pay for the rooms ontop of travelling (from UK) for it. Please let me know either on here or PM me if ye want to be discreet :innocent:

We are getting married at HP this year. We have had no luck with haggling before and after paying our deposit, Jonathon won't budge on anything we ask for! Very keen to hear how all the other HP brides are getting on with their negotiations.

I'm a bit worried that we hadn't tried agreeing more details with HP before putting the deposit down as our bargaining power is obviously gone now. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

But I did have a call from them today and I have to say everyone I speak to is so friendly and helpful it reassures me that we made the right decision in booking.

Hi,

Well I went over to ireland for three days to get a few wedding bits done including hair trial with olivia. The trial was in Olivia's house, she was lovely and talked me through possibilities for the wedding. For the style I want I am going to have layers put through my hair, which I hadn't done before the trial so Olivia could only give me a rough example of what it would look like. I have evry confidence it will look great on the day and will not bother with another trial now. She has given me instructions for what I need to do the day before e.g. washing and moussing and as long as the bridesmaids have pics of the style they want on the day she can do it.

I also sorted out flowers for church and handed in my marriage notice for the town hall. So i'm well on the way now.

Getting exciting now Rack! Glad trial went well I think I'm going to go with Olivia as well she sounds like she knows what she's doing.

I saw the pictures on their website yesterday it looks a lot better than it did. We're heading up to Donegal first weekend in April so hopefully we'll pay HP a little visit :compress

Hi Girls

I will admit I've gone off the boil a bit when it comes to planning.

So far I've booked venue (obviously!), registrar, band, photographer, video booth, hair and makeup.

Having a family member do the video and not getting cars as I'll stay in HP the night before.

Going to do the florist :thnk

in June as it'll be one year before and I'll be able to see all that is in season and then just the dress :compress

I asked about corkage and I was told they don't do it....

Going to HP this week to show my bridesmaid round...can't wait!!!

Not much luck wiv discounts but Ye can't beat quality (well I hope so anyway!!!!)

Being a bit laid back bout it all with just the venue, Church & dress got!!!

need to focus on a band next. anyone got good recommendations? Don't really want too much country (but have to keep aunties happy!!) and would love the siege of Ennis......

I left the band to H2b (don't know if that is the best idea but we'll see) we've gone for Big Generator

What is that band like? I spent an afternoon at the Mount Errigal in LK awhile ago at a band showcase (while the OH excused himself with 'housework' ;o)
