The Fantabulous DIY Wedding Thread

Thanks HellsBelles - you were an angel sorting out those bits a pieces for me!!

I was abble to tinker around with it and once I got it - I did the Guest Information cards and RSVPs in no time!!

I'm actually DELIGHTED how they turned out!!

Margins still aren't 100% but I've contacted a printer to see how much it would be to print the invitations - with me supplying the pre-cut paper and they said it would be handier and cheaper to print on their paper (4 per page) and for them to cut it... eliminating margins!
Got a quote for 200 invitations (prob need 180 but allowing 20 for inevitable mistakes!) for €115 - supplying the paper and €115 for them to supply the paper - so actually cheaper to get their paper, which she's quoted me as 300gsm metallic paper.

I've asked them to quote for the Guest Information Cards & the RSVP's....

That's a good price for that amount. It was no trouble at all :) At least you can tick that off the never-ending list.

JESUS GIVE ME A BREAK!

As I posted yesterday I was tinkering away with my invites template... trying to eliminate as much margin as I could... and got something I was happy with.. saved it - things was good.

However a new colour sample arrived this morning and I want to do it out - so I turned on the printer and went to print out another Invitation to stick onto the mat - thinking that everything would turn out the same... and did it?!! Of course not. Life just couldn't be easy O:|

On the topic of keeping ribbons from fraying - the easiest, least messy way is to hold the cut edge of the ribbon in the heat of a candle to seal it. Don't put it into the flame itself, as it will cause the ribbon to melt and turn to hard black plastic!

I have found it way easier to use a dab of clear nail polish along the cut edge. Works a treat to stop fraying

I don't like the nail polish being left on the ribbon. I prefer the flat, finished edge I get from using a candle.

Girls, for anyone whos got pocketfold invitations - what did you do on the outside??

Gonna put a square monogram with our names on it - but undecided whether to put on a ribbon or bellyband or leave it plain??
