Making your own wedding album?

Making your own wedding album?

Postby kmg2350 » Fri Sep 24, 2022 9:58 am

Hi all!

Thinking about just getting CD of images of our photographer and making our own wedding album. Just wondering has anyone else done this? If so, what websites did you use etc
I like the storybook layout in particular.
any suggestions would be great! Thanks

I intend doing this, I've got photobooks from Pixmania.com before and they are superb. Think this is something you can do yourself to save money especially if you've an artistic eye (for layout).

Our photography package doesn't include an album or parents' albums and I'm happy to do them myself. Would love to hear how others have got on doing this

I'm planning on doing this as well. We are going for the photos-only package with no albums. I'm hoping to find a good professional looking supplier online though havent found one yet.
I'm a scrapbooker and H2B wants me to do an album like this as he loves the idea of me making our album myself. It would take a lot of work though so I may just do it online for a sleek professional look rather than a homemade one!
If you come across any good suppliers let me know!

Hi wollies, I am doing the same - have yet to book my photographer! My h2b is a graphic designer/ photographer and has did photobooks before for his clients and they have turned out well so it will save us a lot of money. If you would like a professional feel for your photobook without the hefty price please get in touch and I am sure he would be happy to help. :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll

I say go for it! you can probably make just as lovely an ablum as the photographer and there are loads of online photo printing websites these days so could be very cost effect. And to be fair as long as you yourself are happy with your ablum who else really cares, i doubt they get looked at that often.

We made photobooks for our parents after our wedding and they loved them. They were magazine style and we used http://www.photobox.com.

We got married in July, and just finished making our wedding albums and 2 parents album on Kodakgallery. I must say it was very easy to make, as the they have smartfit technology, were you select the album, and it makes the album arranging them by date and time. It is just then a matter of rearranging/deleting photos. I must say it is brilliant. They have an offer at the moment, for 25% off photo books. It will work out about 200dollars in total for the 3 albums... Brilliant savings compared to paying over 2K , and I really enjoyed making the albums. Will be putting the order in this week, and will have them in November. Going give the parents albums as a surprise present for xmas. Dollar is pretter good at the moment, so more saving made

Received the albums in the post this week, and I am really happy with them. We got the 12x 14 “ albums for ourselves which consisted of 80 pages, and two parents album which consisted of 60 pages and got little 5x7” books for the BM.
Am very happy with result. I am going to make another album 12x14” based on all the photos that family and friends took. I think it would be a nice touch... so will have 2 albums.. one which has the professional photographs and the other with family & Friends.
I tried to use photobox, but I found it was not user friendly in terms of arranging the layouts... adding additional photos to a page.. Kodakgallery is much easier to you.

hi bumping this up as i would like to do this also. has anyone since 2010!! done this? i found a website myphotobook.ie which looks brilliant! downloaded the software just to have a peak and it looks pretty user friendly you can add photos and then change the transparency and have a backround photo and a photo over two pages so looks almost as good as the professional ones - for putting it in a drawer and taking it out once a year! i was thinking that i can get a cd only package with professional photographer, a album with about 100 pages, leatherbound and two parent albums for a lot less than a professional photographer would charge! happy days! but am wondering what other wollies opinions would be and has anyone done this or plan to do this??

For quality (its a bit more expensive than Irish websites) we used www.mypublisher.com. Service was fantastic shipped from the States and received 2 days later. The paper is great quality etc. We got our wedding album leather bound. If i remember correctly all in all it cost 100 euro in 2010.

I've used my photobook.ie to make an album, found it very easy to use and thought the quality was grand! It wasn't a wedding album though! It's not very expensive though so why not give it a go with other random pics and see the finished product before you make your decision!!!
