I think it is outrageous that Northern Ireland Wollies are now expected to use their own separate website, talk about discrimination! Ireland is one island, I am having a crossborder wedding and I frequently use all threads on the WOL website. I think it is a disgrace. I have booked suppliers from all over the country, I do not recognise the border and it's disgusting that the WOL administrators are segregating communities. It's like bloody apartheid. RAGING >:o( >:o( >:o( >:o( >:o(

I had a quick glance at it and it's pretty pathetic alright! I won't be endorsing or subscribing to it. In my opinion it's a step backwards towards differentiating between north and south. Northern Ireland has plenty of wedding forums already directed towards and dedicated to NI brides such as niweddingjournal online. The reason I use WOL is because it is an ALL-IRELAND FORUM offering information on suppliers etc from all over the whole country.

O:|

The NI thread may not have the most posts, but I always check-in and there are at least a few postings daily by wollies so why do they need to close the thread down?

What it really comes down to is WOL getting more NI specific advertisers- they can tell them that it is NI site and will attract NI brides and so would be a perfect place to put their advertising budget! O:|
The thing that attracts us all to this one is the fact that it covers all of ireland so we get more response to our posts and many varied opinions.

I'm not a Northern Ireland bride but had to come on in support of you guys. I can't believe WOL are doing this. Don't go over there girls, stay here with us!! Start a NI thread in one of the other forums or something but don't let them bully you into a sub-standard, segregated site!

SHAME ON WOL ADMIN FOR THIS DECISION!!!!!!!!! >:o( >:o( >:o( >:o( >:o( >:o( >:o( >:o(
When I was little my Mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "Happy". They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.

I agree with the others. I dont want to have to log into two different forums. I did join the NI forum when it started up but never go there. The reason I love this forum is because I can get advice, ideas and opinions from north and south.
Very disappointed in this - definitely seems like a step in the wrong direction to me.

Admin, I'm curious to know how you will 'treat' those in the border counties? The forum as it stands is a great resource for those of us on/beside the border. Having to log into a different site just for NI is not a good move in my opinion.

Donegal may be in the Republic, but it is Ulster although not the North (which generally refers to the six counties).

ok, why????

I move between all the various forum, picking up tips and sharing my experiences. this is a bit nuts and quite frankly will limit my use certainly of this site.

Where your from and where your wedding is should not make a difference. all of us brides like sharing our experiences regardless of where we baeed etc.....

Hi Girls,

I'm not a member of the Northern Ireland Forum but just wanted to show my support for you all. I think it is a disgrace and admin should should start listening to the wols and users of this site before numbers drop and what will they tell their precious advertisers then!!

This site a very valuable tool for Brides, Mothers and women in general however I do believe that there are similar sites available nobody should be excluded or forced to use another site just because of their address.

Hey girls,

I don't think we're told we have to move sites (well kind of). They will just be deleting the Northern Ireland discussion thread on this and we can still stay (although they would like us to move to the NI one).

I just wish they would keep the NI thread for current users and not delete it.
