How are ye all getting on?

I had just gone looking for this thread and you posted :o0

Ok so lots done and we have even sent out the invites - massive problem there though as FFIL and FMIL "forgot" to give us the full list of people to invite. We are now over our numbers and I am raging.

I am having the BM dresses made and all the BMs are in London so have a dressmaker there but can't get them to go to her to get started!

Things to do:

Pre-marriage meeting with priest here (not the priest that will be marrying us),
Sort the mass booklets,
Sort the church music,
Confirm with all the suppliers times etc,
Get shoes for BMs.

Hey girls,

Getting very excited now. Every so often I keep imagining walking up the aisle and meeting my H2B, then that is followed by excited nerves!!!!!

Hen is in Galway the 25th/ 26th May, it is all organised, just waiting on people to lodge money!!!

Things left to do are:
Get accessories for myself and BM- where did you guys get yours??
Get hair piece- ideas please??
Finalise hair style
Get gifts for parents and GM/ BM
Waiting on sample booklet to come and make sure it is ok
Write and send out invites

Think that is it, but I am sure I will think of more

We still have a bit to do!

We gave the go ahead to the printers this evening to print our invitations (after a lot of toing & froing O:| ) so we'll be happy once they are written & posted :)

Had menu tasting last week so just need to decide on which soup & what 2 options we want for main course!

I picked up the dressing gowns today (bought them in Dunnes & got 'Bride' etc embroidered on the back). They are fab!

I am going to try on a pair of shoes tomorrow that i ordered in to a shop in my size so if they are comfy i'll be buying them :hyper:

Got a call from the Bridal Shop yesterday to tell me my dress is in :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll Going for my first fitting next Wednesday :o)ll

Have the Civil Ceremony booklet typed up so it's ready for printing :compress

Best man & my dad got fitted for their suits so just need to get the groomsman & FBIL (standing in for OHs dad) measured up.

I need to go for another hair trial & tan trials!

Hoping to do bathroom baskets so need to buy all the bits & pieces for them.

Need to buy some sexy lingerie >:o)

How's everyone else doing??

Have a similarly long list!

For guests:
-Need to put together they're welcome pack. Buy some bits, put together a little booklet of info, get maps etc.
-Get some plans together for what to do the first week they're here
-Sort hotel rooms for them
-Sort drink for the reception
-Finalise menu
-1 bridesmaid dress left to get plus all shoes/accesories

Ceremony/Reception:
-Some sort of booklet/scroll. Plan ceremony
-Buy fans and lanterns
-Put together the music for ceremony/dinner/reception
-Decide on colour scheme, decide on decoration!

For us:
- Get dress altered (this weekend)
-Get accessories, shoes, hair etc
-Sort suits
-Go visit wedding island, confirm all details.
-Decide on hair style, get it done here, take pics to show the stylist on the island
-Decide on makeup and buy it
-Get a tan!

I've probably forgot loads of stuff too :D

kids packs
Meetings with photographer/ videographer to go over details
Find a nice dress for my hen! :o0

Not long to go ladies!! I have most big things done, just need to write, send out invites, decide prayers/ readings/music for ceremony, do up mass booklet, seating plan, decide on menu/wine and a few smaller things. Scary how fast went?!

Anyone know of a good website to help with picking prayers/ readings etc?

Thanks

Hi everybody,

New Wolly here, got engaged less than two weeks ago. And no... I'm not in the wrong forum - we set our date today... 27 July 2012! So - 11 weeks to sort out a wedding! Can it be done? Watch this space... But we already have venue and registrar booked; guest list compiled (admittedly it will be just 20 people max); invites and place cards designed; my dress, shoes and veil tried on and ordered; and an engagement party planned. Next on the list: organising celebratory hooleys in three different countries (long story)!

PS It's not a shotgun wedding, either :o0

Hi Girls,

It's getting close now! Feel very on top of things getting ready to send invites in two weeks, everything becoming very real, after months of looking at hairstyles and make up it's wierd finally making decisions, still very unsure about my dress but I think that is just nerves! Fingers crossed! Starting to think about honeymoon now, don't want to spend too much on clothes but really want some nice stuff to wear! Anyone else watching Franc's DIY's brides by H2B is terrified I will start a mad DIY session with 'extras's right before the wedding..... i think he is right to be worried :yelrotflmaosmilie:

Oh my, it's getting close alright!

Just had 2nd make-up trial today and chuffed to bits. H2b is happy enough too :) He doesn't like any make-up on me...men :duh:

Have pretty much everything sorted...still to do:

Menu tasting, start of June
Need to sort out choice of music for the ceremony
Waiting for registrar to contact us about ceremony, I think they usually get in touch a couple of weeks before, right?
I'll get the dress alterations done a couple of weeks before the wedding
NEED underwear, that's going to be a headwreck O:|
Have to contact flower and cake supplier in a few weeks

Ohhh, collected our wedding bands last week and they're fab! I'm delighted!
Also received my favours...absolutely love them! They're seeded paper and so pretty!

I'm still thinking I have forgotten something. Had a mad wedding related dream last night again! They all seem to be around me being late for the wedding :o0
