Prayers of the faithful...please share!

Prayers of the faithful...please share!

Postby veggie84 » Mon May 07, 2022 11:12 pm

Its mass booklet time and I'm in the process of deciding the prayers of the faithful. Would anyone like to share some nice ones?

Also my dad was quite sick with cancer last year and is now doing really well. I would like to include a prayer thanking god for his great health but without mentioning him specifically. Any ideas

Must still write mine but maybe you could have one to pray for those who are ill and thanking doctors for the good work they do making people better - phrased a bit better than that! I'll be plagarising somebody else's prayers as I'm not the best at coming up with that sort of thing myself.

We pray for our loved ones who have suffered poor health, we thank God for the people that have taken care of them to bring them to good health.

Here are a few, some I've nicked, some tweaked, some made up :o0 Some of them mention children or our son specifically because I wanted him to be included. The one with all the family names too, that came about because people wanted me to mention specific family members who had passed and you know what big families are like... "she mentioned Uncle Johnny but not Uncle duck, why did she not mention Uncle duck?"... you know yourself, the 4 surnames cover all bases! :o0

1. We pray for [Bride] and [Groom] and their son [daughter, children] and that the Lord, who has brought them to this happy day, will keep them forever in happiness and love.
Lord Hear Us.

2. We pray for all the deceased members of the [Groom Surname], [Bride Surname], [First Mother-in-Law's maiden name] and [Second Mother-in-Law's maiden name] families, that God will one day unite us again in the joys of our eternal home.
Lord Hear Us.

3. We pray for our community and our families, who welcome Christ into their lives, that they learn to receive him in the poor and suffering people of this world.
Lord Hear Us.

4. We pray that the Lord may bless the world with his peace and the protection of his love.
Lord Hear Us.

5. We pray for the families and friends of [Bride] and [Groom] and all who have helped them to become husband and wife.
Lord Hear Us.

6. We pray for those who mourn while we are rejoicing, that in their suffering and loneliness they may experience the strength of God's support.
Lord Hear Us.

7. We pray for the hard working community members who help to heal our sick and look after us in our time of need. May they be blessed with the love and support of the Lord.
Lord Hear Us.

8. We pray for the sick, and for those who care for them, may they be blessed with the love, support and comfort of the Lord.
Lord Hear Us.

9. We pray for the faithful departed and those whom we, ourselves have loved, that God will one day unite us again in the joys of our eternal home.
Lord Hear Us.

10. We pray for the private intentions of all here present, that God may grant you and your loved ones your requests, and guide you happily through life.
Lord Hear Us.

11. We pray for married couples and those preparing for marriage, that they will be blessed with happiness and be an example of unity, fidelity and love.
Lord Hear Us.

12. We pray for the gifts of life and good health which we so often take for granted. May we always appreciate these gifts and may they bring us closer to God.
Lord Hear Us.

13. We pray for [Bride] and [Groom], that their life together will be filled with happiness and love, that they may always be true friends to each other. That together they will face the challenges of life. May their home be one filled with love. Bless them on their journey through life.
Lord Hear Us.

14. We pray for all those who are sick, lonely, or struggling in today's world. May they be strengthened by God's love and aided by their friends.
Lord Hear Us.

Think that covers all bases :o0 (Not having all 14, obvs :-8 )

We're having 7 and now having a reflection at the end as well when another person who we'd asked but couldn't make the wedding suddenly announced they could now come and were so proud to do a prayer for us. I hope people won't be bored but what can you do!!! Thanks for all the ones up above. Saves me writing them :-)

Let us pray for bride and groom, that their life together may be filled with joy and peace. May their love for each other grow from strength to strength and may their deepest hopes on this come to fulfilment .
Lord, hear us.

We pray for the parents of bride and groom, their families and friends gathered here today who, through their love and support have helped them to become husband and wife.
Lord, hear us.

Let us pray for all the faithful departed and especially brides father, name . That God will one day unite us in the joy of our eternal home.
Lord, hear us.

We pray today that the Lord may bless our country and the world with his peace and that his church may be united in faith and love.
Lord, hear us.

We pray for relatives and friends who have travelled near and far to be here with us today. We thank God for bringing you here safely and may he grant you a safe journey home.
Lord, hear us.

these are what i had. not sure if you like any of them. but i stole them from mass booklets..
