How many bridesmaids are you having?

Hi guys
I'm just wondering how many bridesmaids is everyone having? I'm only having one and haven't really seen too many weddings with only one bridesmaid so hopefully the pictures won't look strange.

Everyone is different and of course one won't look too lonely! If thats what you want, thats what you should go for. Myself, well I never thought firstly I'd ever be getting married so it wasn't something I really thought about but I've 2 fantastic sisters and two fantastic best friends and I want the 4 of them beside so thats me with 4 bridesmaids!

Nifty - I'm only having one too.
We have two groomsmen so I was a little worried it would look odd - but at this stage I don't really care what people think :innocent:

I think any good photographer will know how to deal with all sizes of bridal parties and no one will look lonely

My mother and grandmother both had one bridesmaid, I think one looks better than 6 or 7 anyway! Nothing wrong with it, and saves so much cost too.

It's interesting to hear different peoples perspectives on this.
Phew- glad to hear that some other people only had one!
My OH has only one brother so he is best man and OH didn't feel strongly enough about anyone else to have them as a groomsman so thought it was easiest to just go with one groomsman and one bridesmaid. This will also save us some expense ;o)

I am looking forward to getting my bridesmaid her dress. She is very open to colours and styles and has a great figure so anything will look nice on her. She is also a "standard" size so it should be (fingers crossed) relatively easy to find a dress which fits well.
I have been bridesmaid twice - once with one other bridesmaid and a second time with three other bridesmaids and I remember it being very difficult for us to find dresses when I was bridesmaid second time round.

Hey - my friend only had one and it didn't look odd at all!! I would have loved only one but I have two friends since I was 4 so I couldn't choose between them so two it is!

Hi, I am having 2 bridesmaids, my sister-in-law and a friend, was going to have one but h2b has 2 brothers and didn't want to leave one out.

I had one, my sister. We agreed years ago to do it for each other and not have friends. Made life easier, especially for the budget.

I'm having two, but that's to keep balance I guess (I know... I know!)

My H2B has his best friend as his best man, and then 16yr old brother as his other groomsman. I'll have my sis as my CBM and I'm struggling to pick another person. I think it's kind of odd but I don't have any very close female friends.

H2B has three very close friends, so picking just one was tough for him. I know he'd love to have all three of them and then for me to find three BMs but the costs involved, and the stress of me having to find girls to be BMs to try balance is killing me. I'm a little sensitive about the fact that I don't have very many close friends, and it would probably kill me to have people wonder why I don't have as many BMs as H2B has GMs. God, just writing this now I've felt very selfish.

I think it's interesting that two seems to be the consensus by the poll so far! I thought it would be three or four!

3 for me and I do wish I had stuck with one tbh but I didn't want to choose one over another. I just think that a smaller bridal party would have been easier to manage and pay for - and secretly I kind of think I am too old for an all singing all dancing show :o0

I'm having four bridesmaids, my sister and three friends. Looking at the expense side it hurts but there's not one of them I could think not to have so they're worth it! OH is only having his best man, the perfectionist in me hates the imbalance this will result in but I couldn't ask him to pick three groomsmen just for the sake of it.
