Just got a BFP and new to P&B? This is a beginners guide

Thanks woodstock- so useful, just got a BFP this morning! So many questions and your post helped so much. I got married in June and my periods stopped from the stress so last thing I was expecting- I knew something was up last week but just thought it was bad PMT as it was so long since my last period

Have posted these questions in a previous post but still clueless. Am going private - GP typed up letter but got me to collect it and post it myself? Is this the norm? Going private - do you usually get called for scan by 12 weeks or is it luck of the draw? And finally any idea how much first appointment/scan is? O:|

Lush I reckon it depends on the hospital- if you sent the letter a while back or even about a week ago I'd call them to follow up. I'm private in daisyhill and I called them directly to make an appointment and I got one for just under 13 weeks. If I went to drogheda my GP would have sent a letter but again I prob would have called after about a week if I hadn't heard back. Usually if you're private you should get one close to the 12 week mark. Why don't you call your consultants office

Thanks woodstock, this is a great post!So glad I came across it!Just wondering if they will do a scan at 7 -8 weeks is that 7-8 weeks from your last AF or 7-8 weeks from when you concieve?I am just over 4 weeks from y last AF & would be great to think I could organise a scan in 4-5 weeks time. I will go public I think but would like to pay for a scan early! :wv
